It should be interesting to see how Goodell handles this one. They are always telling players to not drink and drive and then Boykin gets arrested for being a drunken passenger. You must be right, there has to be more to it or maybe it was the marijuana that got him arrested. The article says he was in possession of it, so he likely got pinched for that. Also, now that he was caught in possession of weed I'm pretty sure there will be an NFL piss test in his future too. These players can be so dumb sometimes.

Every state is different. Public Intox is not the same as DWI or DUI. It could've been he was being uncooperative, loud, drunk or stoned enough to be a safety concern...

In Texas, you can be arrested and charged with public intoxication at the whim of the arresting officer. Your word against his. Guess who the judge usually believes. There is not test that is required to be administered. You just have to have had a drink and been out in public. If the police ask you to step out of you house and you have been drinking, you can be arrested for PI as soon as you cross the threshold of the door.

While this is definitely not good, it may or may not be as bad as it appears.

So he was just a passenger in the car and he still got arrested for "public" intoxication? That seems odd doesn't it? He wasn't driving drunk. Maybe the weed is what got him arrested?

Not saying but if you own the car and the driver is DUI - you get the same charge.

No it wasn't RW unless you get drunk on the holy recovery water.

Slow day in football minus the meetings. So figured I'd post this. Boykin was and undrafted selectee by the Hawks last year. I'd have to think he's unemployed very soon? Most teams don't want their QBs making these kinds of headlines. Then again PC is not know for his discipline now is he?

My assumption is that Pete exercised as much discipline over Boykin as BB had over AH.
