I sincerely hope DT punks Sherman at some point during the superbowl and lets him know it.

You know? I think Sherman is getting WAY too much flack on this. Yeah, he shot off his mouth. He was interviered on the field where he was still in game mode. And Crabtree was giving as much as he got during that game too. No one is talking about that.

Oh, and it was Crabtree who pushed (punched?) Sherman at the end of that play. Not much mention of that either.

That said, I still would like to see him torched by Manning and D. Thomas:suds:

Crabtree retaliated to Sherman mocking him and then doing the "choke" gesture.

Crabtree is also a douchebag, IMO.

It was a poor decision by Sherman to vent like that in a public interview. But, there has been bad blood between the 2 for over a year. He vowed to embarrass Crabtree at a charity event over a year ago.

"Sherman has been upset with Crabtree since last summer. Both attended Arizona star receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s charity event. While there, Sherman went to shake Crabtree’s hand, and Crabtree tried to start a fight, according to Sherman’s older brother, Branton.

“I’m going to make a play and embarrass him,” Richard Sherman vowed that day."

Richard Sherman Tips Pass, Seahawks Advance to Super Bowl After Interception | Bleacher Report

Kind of sad that he held a grudge for over a year and just embarrassing him on the field was not enough. He had to do it publicly.

I will just refer to Ditka on the subject. "Respect the game and the game will respect you. You do your talking on the field."

Sherman is a great player, but he runs his mouth too much.

Yeah I got to agree with Walker here. Sherman is one of the best if not the best corners in the game. He always seems to spout off right after game because he`s so hyped up. After he calms, he`s more, shall we dare,humble-ish. I think the most interesting dual in this SB will be Denvers wrs vs Hawks dbs. Will be something to watch no doubt.

See to me the match up is not in the secondary but in the trenches. How will the Bronco OL hold up against the Seattle DL. If they can play like they did yesterday against the Patriots in Manning barely getting touched then it doesn't matter how good of a secondary you have they are going to get beat.

Sherman's comments were not the comments of a Champion. Not by their timing or their nature. If a player on the Broncos had done that, even if it was warranted, I would cringe and think to myself, "We're going to lose the Super Bowl". I'm not trying to exaggerate here either. There is a psychology to winning, and there is a psychology to losing. That was an example of a losing psychology. Richard Sherman was more interested in settling a personal vendetta than celebrating that his team was going to the Super Bowl. Not a good state of mind there.

He's a leader on his team, and he would be smart to rectify those comments with his team immediately, if he hasn't done so already. If not, that "losing psychology" will infiltrate the psyche of his team as they prepare for the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Sometimes it seems that when two teams meet in the Super Bowl, one team is more collectively focused on winning it all and have the mind set of "unfinished business", and the other team is there trying to win it, or even expecting to win it. I think the Broncos have the mindset of the former, and while the Seahawks don't necessarily have the mind set of the latter, that minor meltdown by Sherman was not a good tone-setter for their team. It will be interesting to see if any more comes of this, and to just see general mentality of both teams in the next two weeks.

This is definitely a time that I am glad our leaders are veteran players that know the work is not done yet. Yes it is great to be the AFC Champions but the next 2 weeks are not a time to celebrate but prepare. I fully expect this team to spend very little time actually enjoying NY/NJ area and just focusing completely on the game at hand. When the Broncos had the bye week they said most players went away for a couple of days to rest and relax but for the most part the extra week was used watching film and preparing for whatever team they would be facing. I fully expect that again.

The bigger matchup is the flip side here. How well will our defensive front 7 play against Lynch and Seattle's run game? How well will we contain Wilson?

I think our O-line will do okay against Seattle's pass rush. The bigger question should be if we will be able to get any sort of run game going? We will need to at least show a threat to run. If Moreno and Ball are bottled up completely, Manning will be facing heavy WR coverage. Our offensive line will need to push back enough to give our RB's some room to operate.

Finally, we need to make sure Seattle pays for their mistakes with touchdowns. They made some last night, but didn't have to pay much for them.

After all the stuff being talked about today I'd definitely agree. That being said......I'd still love to see DT put him in his place, and give "the best corner in football" the worst day of his career.

Sherman is a stud though. Dude definitely backs up his talk :blabla:

True CD but my thinking was I think Denver will do fine with the front 7 and visa versa. I`m not so worried about Wilson beating Denver with his arm ( from the pocket). Denver D needs to contain him as much as possible sideline to sideline because that`s where he and Kappy are more dangerous....when the roll out to their "throwing" side. Wilson is no Manning from the pocket. Denvers O -line will do fine vs Hawk pressure, its if the big wrs from Denver can get seperation from those big agressive dbs. If Manning gets sacked it`ll be more likely "coverage sacks than pressure up front from Seattle. IMO of course

My wife and I just bought tickets!!! They came down just enough to make it possible!

Reading a lot of the comments here and on the heels of articles on ESPN, NFL.com, etc, it appears to me most Seahawks fans have not even considered the possibility that the Broncos will win this game. I understand being confident. Hell, I'm confident the Broncos will win. But I can at least acknowledge the Seahawks have a legitimate chance as well. Now there are some exceptions, but the prevailing mindset amongst Seahawks boosters seems to be "Just ship the Lombardi to the PNW today and save us all the plane ride!"

There are some cool Seattle fans I have talked to. But most of them, the conversation pretty much goes like this-

Denver fans: "How will Seattle's defense stop the highest scoring offense the NFL has ever seen?"

Seattle fans: "Legion of Boom!"

Denver fans: "Umm..yes. I understand Seattle's defense is pretty physical, and will play press coverage with a single safety to double our primary receiver. If you double team DT or Decker, you leave Welker and Thomas and possibly Caldwell in man on man. Moreno is great receiving out of the backfield with almost 500 receiving yards this season. Broncos O-line has been great in pass protection and Manning gets rid of the ball quickly. He will find the holes in your coverage. Not to mention we also can run the ball pretty well. How will your offense be able to match scores if it becomes a shootout?"

Seattle Fans: "Beast Mode!"

Well, if it takes longer than a sentence, we probably think its BS.

Honest non homers would def say it will be a good close game, but also, many, and I include myself in this catagory, am much more confident about the Seahawks winning this game than I was for San Frans.

Reason? Seahawks are a physically dominating team. They do tend to win.

Looking forward to a great matchup guys.

Just a couple thoughts.

Manning and Co. I think will get their yards, however Seattle has been extremely tough inside the red zone all season long ranking 2nd in the league in touchdowns allowed inside the 20. Will Denver exploit that?

How will Seattle's triangle defense match up against all those receiving weapons? Their speed at LB is very good which helps and Chancellor will be up playing press with our corners with Thomas dropping back in to deep coverage. His good closing speed allows him to do that.

Manning gets rid of the ball super quick, so the key for Seattle is going to be disrupting routes to make Manning hold on to the ball longer to give the Seattle pass rush a chance to disrupt his rhythm. Manning's lack of mobility will allow for man press coverage to help with that unlike Kaepernick who forced Seattle to go zone to adjust and stop his big runs. Seattle not having Browner's size for this game could possibly hurt them though.

I can't comment on the run game, but I know Moreno is a very capable back.

This is going to be an epic game.

The red zone battle will be very interesting to watch, as Denver is tops at RZ efficiency overall, and tops in TD's per RZ visit.

Disrupting routs will be important, but Seattle will also have to look out for the "rub" crossing routes. They will need someone who can match up to Welker and J. Thomas too. Manning LOVES to create mismatches for those two. Second key will be Seattle's front 4 being able to stop the run. That allows defenders to sit back in coverage and Manning will hold the ball longer. If we can run, Seattle will need to respect Moreno and Ball, and could have a harder time creating that coverage pressure.

The other key matchup I see is Beast Mode vs. Pot Roast (Lynch vs. Knighton). Whomever wins that battle will have a big advantage over the other team.

While I'd LOVE to see an epic blowout in favor of the Broncos, I see this game being really tight. Definitely a big test for both teams.
