San Francisco OL

Today, they deserve their own thread.

Good play all around by the offensive line....

Everyone beat their man, pushed him around and stuffed them long enough to allow Smith to operate.

Here's to you Offensive Line! :tea:

PS - Staley, after a game like this, that's when you can say you don't suck.... FYI

I think the sico nickname should go to the front 7 on defense, not the OL.

Now that I can pay proper attention to the thread...I'd rather no one on the team say shit. I want them all to keep their traps shut and keep workin'.

I do kind of like the San Fransico nickname for the defense.

I never would have thought Rachal had so much to do with the O-Line's struggles, but it's hard to argue against that after the last two games.

Staley and Iupati both had really, really good games. Anthony Davis wasn't impressive again, though.

With McCoy knocked out early, the Niners OL had a decisive advantage. However, I'll give props where it's due.

Next week's game against the Lions with both Suh and Fairley anchoring the middle should be a true test for our OL.

agreed!

the main thing i wanted to see improve was the O-line, and they played well no doubt. i liked the way our running game wasn't just working, but WORKING!

they're also looking more like a Unit now on pass protect, along with TE's and RB's.

Great Blocking, especially downfield and pass protection. We still need to develop better 3rd down schemes and continue to use all weapons! The Lions will be a test in all phases of the game Oline, Dline, Receivers, RB . Let's get ready to rumble Go 49ers!!

0 sacks on the day and the running game with 213 total yards so it was an excellent performance by the offensive line as a whole and hopefully they can carry that over against a very good Detroit defensive line next week.

It looks like as a whole the offense in general is starting to look sharper and it's encouraging to see the offensive line have a solid game against the Eagles followed by a great performance yesterday.

76-Anthony Davis: Started at right tackle, and enjoyed his best game of the season . . . . Got block on Bennett that opened way for Gore on a 14-yard run on first play of second half. . . . He did not commit a penalty or yield a sack. (Follow on Twitter @AnthonyDavis76)

hey now! good, a sign of improvement.

Yup.. That is a good sign... but on a down side... Davis always plays better at home, he needs to apply the same improvement on road games... The next one will be a big test to see how much he improved

Davis had an excellent run-blocking day in Philly as well. His cut, drive, down and trap blocks made a difference on nearly every big and critical running play against the Eagles. Obviously, he still needs to work on his pass pro, but his run blocking has improved tremendously.

Glad to see he is getting some credit for it - Good post, Deep!

hmmm, didn't notice that?

but good point next game, not only being on the road but isn't Detroit on artificial turf? he should still run block well, but guess they'll be some 'speed rushing' to contend with?

Like MW mentioned, Davis stepped up in the Eagles game... I would vouche for him on a solid pass protect as well... he's growing and learning and that's important for him and the Niners....
