I would like to believe we are building the foundation of many playoff seasons to come. Sounds like it just might be a great first game for the little one on the way TallGlass.

I would be surprised if we didn't win the bid.

The last Super Bowl in California was in 03 and since then Florida has had Super Bowls in 05, 07, 09, 10 with Miami having the ones in 07 and 10.

Palo Alto in Standford Stadium in 85 is the only Northern California Super Bowl.

The first Super Bowl was in California so if they want to come full circle so to speak with number 50 California makes sense.

And lastly I think Goodell and the NFL want to highlight new stadiums so they can say to residents of other cities with teams battling over a new stadium "Hey the 49ers got a new Stadium and look they got a Super Bowl right off the bat and it won't be the last"

Awarding the 50th SB will be a big deal but there is history supporting the notion that if you build a new stadium you get a SB. I would be surprised if we were not awarded the 2016 SB, and shocked if we didn't get either the 2016 or 2017 SB.

I want the 49th Super Bowl, for obvious reasons, but I'll take whatever we get without complaints if it is for the 2017 SB or before.

Why has Florida gotten it so many times lately? Is it just the reliable weather? Is it having more than one team? Did they get new stadiums?

The NFL's policy is that a stadium needs to be opened for two years before they can be open to being awarded the Super Bowl so it was going to be impossible to get the 49th SB anyways.

Ha.... unfortunately the mother already vetoed USC. I wouldn't budge on the Niners or Giants though. I told her if it wasn't a Niner fan I would give up my parental rights and she could take care of the baby herself. Did the trick.

I have zero experience going to a Super Bowl. I wonder what the cost is going to be and how you can buy the tickets. I want to go even if we aren't in it. Does it just come up as an event on ticketmaster or what?
