same results as Pats

I just realized over the past 3 years, we have the same results as the Pats:

1 Superbowl loss, 2 conference round losses in the past 3 years (slightly different order, same result)
(Pats lost to Giants in Superbowl, then Ravens in AFC championship, then Broncos in AFC championship).

If we can perenially be in the playoffs like the Pats can, that would be great.
The key is the draft, and we are definitely investing in the draft.

Yeah, but we are looking like those Eagle teams from the past. I don't like the vibe of 3 straight years going to the NFC championship game.

Has there ever been a team that has made it to 4 straight NFC championship games?

Buffalo Bills lost four straight SBs, did they not? Or just 4 in a span?

In my opinion, not exactly a bad thing. Like Harbaugh said, "Not many people get to be in this arena".

Funny thing is we lost to the Giants the same year and same with the Ravens.

:agree:

I would just add that I would also like to see a change in the offensive to emphasize more speed, more big plays, more scoring, less smash-mouth. If every game is close in the 4th, you are going to lose quite a few, especially on the road in the playoffs. I suspect that the coaches see it as just the opposite, just one play away. It will be fun to see what the Broncs can do against Sea. Would love to see them put up 50 points.

And one play away in 2011. Three straight years. Harbaugh has a great resume and hopefully it will improve next year.

No doubt a great resume and he deserves his pay raise coming . But we have to get a Super Bowl win.

Not sure if the window is really closing, as long as we have a good draft this year we'll be fine.
our QB, o-line, OLBs are fine.

Guys like Whitner, Rogers, Goodwin we can replace.

Not at all. We still have a relatively young O-line, a young QB who has taken us to the Super bowl, a very strong front 7 with a young Tank Caradine who can eventually replace Justin Smith, a pro bowl caliber Safety in Eric Reid, a still young WR in Crabtree, an All-Pro Punter in Andy Lee (my boy), ect. We're going to be fine.

We have a great coaching staff, a brand new stadium, and a great Front Office. Guys want to play here. As long as we can keep having strong drafts we will be fine. I forsee us letting some guys go who eventually require too much money (like Goldson) and then we draft young solid replacements like Eric Reid who are going to be younger guys who come cheaper that we can groom for 4-5 years.

I would love Kaepernick to call his inner zoolander and turn left....

maybe he'll throw to a 2nd read?
