The Chicago Bears have released linebacker Sam Acho and elevated linebacker Lamin Barrow from the practice squad the team announced Saturday on the even of their season opener against the Green Bay Packers.
Acho, 26, has played four seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

with the Denver Broncos last year after being drafted in the fifth round out of LSU. The Bears signed Barrow to their practice squad after he was waived by the Broncos earlier this month.
Acho had missed the last two preseason games due to an undisclosed illness and has not practiced with the team. Keep in mind veteran contracts (four or more accrued seasons) are no longer fully guaranteed after Week 1. 25% salary guarantee after Week 1. They could bring him back after his illness has cleared up.
