I thought growing old would take longer
Good game Sabres fans
Always a good game when these two teams play.
Miller was the difference in this game for sure.
Bad news is that Carolina won and is still 5 points ahead.
Sabres with a chance to win 3 straight games for the first time this season.
I would have to think that Miller gets the start again tomorrow?
They were saying that Enroth might already be in Buffalo, and will get the start tomorrow night?
How did Gaustad get Star #1 and Miller is not even there?
What the hell Boston????
I hope Jeff had a good time at the game.
Asshole, luckily the site I thought I won tickets off of, some auction, the reserve wasn't met, and they didn't let me know till last minute. So instead I just had dinner and watched the game with my friend whom I was supposed to take.
I'm so pissed I missed that Flyers game, I am still kicking myself in the ass for that... I had intentions on going to that Thrashers game too, IMO those were two of the best games we had all year, as far as entertainment goes. Oh well...
I may try and score some tix to the B's/Hab's game coming up in Boston.
Now for the game that took place last night. I wasn't giving up on Horton just yet, but after last night, I'm disgusted. I was so happy to see him screen Miller on that first goal.... But then it went all down hill. He is just giving up in our own end along the boards, weak passing, horrible turnovers. I mean WTF!? When your in a slump, you dont just go into a full collapse, you do the little things that matter, force turnovers, screen the goalie, look for the deflection, battle for the fucking puck... He is just not there mentally or physically, at least not in last nights game. I am happy with Lucic's effort, even though he dropped off a little. Rask didn't look so hot last night, even though the defense did not help him at all. That was some of the worst puck handling in front of our net I have ever seen, we allowed so many open lanes for the Sabres to just fire on Rask.
Really not happy with last night's performance.
So many of the other players on team are firing on all cylinders, which is a good sign, however, it makes me wonder if Horton is still struggling trying to determine how he fits in CJ's system. He's a natural goal scorer and he certainly had his looks last night. If he could have elevated the puck on that second chance opportunity from the feed by Savard, this would be a different discussion. I really feel like he's kind of defeating himself at this point. I agree with you though, if you are a player in a slump, the best way to get out of that is to do the rest of the things defensively that help you to contribute to a victory. It helps build confidence in why you are out there on the first line and that eventually allows you to relax putting pressure on yourself. After that goals are sure to follow...I haven't given up on him yet, I'm positive his turnaround is coming soon.
