Sabres offseason... Regier

So, just finished the Buffalo paper and Regier said the following.

Weber and Gragani are definately ready for the NHL as well as Enroth.

He also all but said he's done with FA.

That means our team is gonna look like this.

That is a sad sad defensive core With no improvement whatsoever on the offesive front. Which, if you all remember went 0/19 on the pp last year in the playoffs. Thanks for another mediocre season coming up Regier....

Apparently Golisano told Regier to stay close to the floor of the cap so he can make some money this year. Either that or Regier's grand plan is to try and win the draft lottery the next few years....

I said for now if you remember reading the post. And that was until I read the articles in the paper that said Regier was happy with the status of his team now with his BIG SIGNING....

I feel for Sabres fans, I really do, you guys have a loyal and passionate fanbase, it's too bad that owners don't either see the need to make or want to make managerial changes.

Yeah, I'm excited about Gerbe as well, but I do think he could use 1 more season in the AHL before he made a jump to the NHL. Same could be said about Gragnani and Weber.

I actually like Ennis and Gerbe together, should be exciting if they actually keep them together. Might get pushed around just a bit, especially at such young ages.

Now I'm really pissed. We paid leopold 3 million for 3 seasons when we could have gotten kubina for 3.85 million for 2 seasons. WTF!!!!

Good signing by TB by the way. You guys are alot better now with him on your team.

Sorry, was this is the Buffalo NEws? I did not see that he said he was finished after one day of free agency. That would be ludicrous.

Anyways, I agree that the Leopold signing was weak. He's an average d-man. However, he has skills the Sabres need. But, he's not the big splash they needed to make. Again, they fell in llove with their players, and therefore watched a lot of good players slip away and go to different teams.

Darcy also said he was in discussion with some scoring forwards whom decided to go to other teams.

The Sabres aren't done yet by any means. Possibly on the blue line, but up front there is still work to be done. Matt Lombardi and Lee Stempniak have got to be two guys they're willing to look at.

The blue line, though, is going to suffer mightily next season. Tallinder and Lydman are two solid defensemen. Sabres fans perhaps took them for granted. They will be missed.

Let's hope Mike Weber and MA Gragnani are ready. I have this sick overly optimistic feeling that they are. Damn.

Gerbe is a guy they need to move. Nathan Horton have been a nice swap in a package deal. I also like Andrej Mezarros for a 2nd rounder.

I don't, however, think they truly missed out on Kubina. Actually quite glad they didn't bite on him.
