Man i hope this rule dont pass. I dont want a rule to "help" us stop a offense. It will be so much more satisfying to stop it straight up as it is. I will say this before this year we struggled 1 time with the HUNH offenses 2012 aTm. Our struggles thisyear were more concerned with we just didnt have a good defense period. We struggled in every game on defense the HUNH offenses were the only ones good enough to finish the drives and score. Teams move the ball all year on us (even the regular offenses) all year they just wouldnt score. We just didnt have the personnel this year it was about us and not the Offenses. Look in 2011 when we had a good defense Gus Malzahns offense scored ZERO points on us. So all of the Alabama struggles against HUNH offenses is really overblown based on 1 year where our defense was just not good period.

You've mentioned him and bashing B. more than any other poster. Notice I didn't mention that coach nor his school.

If you really want to end this thread and get the last word, just state that what your coach said was self-serving and I'll let you have it. :suds:

They call it coach speak for a reason...90% of what comes out of any coaches mouth including Saban is self-serving. The only career category that might possibly exceed them in this is politicians.

Now that everyone is aligned that this rule a) does not help with player safety and b) was only to help non hurry up offense teams, I think we made good progress.

It only took 55 pages and every major news source hammering the topic to death but the bammers finally got the point. I'm actually impressed I thought it might not happen.

Can't speak for anyone else, but for me it is to bring some balance to the game so that games are more 28-21ish, not 55-48ish. I don't want to go back to 14-7 games, but I think games where both teams basically score on every possession is equally boring.

I've also been clear that basing it on safety seems premature. I wouldn't be surprised to find that more plays = more injuries, but there is not enough information available today to make that determination, either way.

Just one man's opinion.
