My belief is I believe Ryan Clark was the worst starting defensive player in the NFL last year.

Heh, it sure felt that way at times last year.
But it does not diminish his credibility as a veteran player or respected locker room guy, who has been around SB winning coaches in his career, including Gibbs.
While you have to take every story with a grain of salt, he does make some encouraging remarks about Jay and right now a vote of confidence his way is not a bad thing at all.

Clark was terrible last year, but remember when we signed Archuleta in 2006 then got rid of Clark? Great deal there.
