I was disappointed in Okung - that says more about my expectations than it does his talents. I don't know what the Broncos plan to do to put together an Oline.

Yeah. I agree Mingo. Just hard to justify picking up the option. He was pretty darn average last year. I know we are on panic mode but damn.

he got paid more than his option. We shoudl have traded him we could have gotten a mid round pick imo

The way his contract was set up it would have been tough to trade him and not have to pay some of his money. Unless we worked a deal out to clear that up.

This is an awful contract from the Chargers stand point. AWFUL! Unless he goes back to the first 5 years he was in the NFL and stays healthy. Which he won't. He is past his prime and injury prone.

On the other hand - planting Okung on the Chargers with an aging Phillip Rivers sounds rather like the objective of a major spy operation.

Okung wasn't horrible last year, but he wasn't what we expected. Sad to see him go as I don't know that we will get better play at this point.

Maybe a couple Rookie OTs are coming our way. Not that it would be a great situation, but if they can be decent this year we could be in good shape going forward.

I think the cost of a LT is higher then most people realize in today's NFL. Crazy money was handed out.

I think we all know good LT's cost a lot of money. But Okung surely got overpaid because of his position. That and the limited amount of LT's in FA and the draft this year... In other years his offeres would have been much different.
