Can the FDA really do that? I am not current on the law. It used to be if something was considered food, you could make all the outrageous claims you wanted and didn't have to prove it. If something is considered a drug, then the claims need to be substantiated. I was into bodybuilding in the 1990's and recall of the supplements companies were peddling. Since the bodybuilding supplements were considered a food product and not a drug, the manufacturers could make all kinds of outrageous claims about what their supplement could do without having to back it up. Some company would come up with some crappy product called Muscle Builder 5000 and claim it will pack more muscle on you than Arnold S. 90% of the stuff was garbage in a capsule but the companies got away selling them under false pretenses.
