Why would the Flames trade Regehr when they're battling for a playoff spot? Are they considering unloading the contract to free up cap space?

The only way Feaster should consider trading Regehr is if the Flames have fallen way back in the playoff chase and if he receives an incredible return. Also, Regehr has a pesky NTC.

Just thought I'd add this to the thread.

Apparently Bob McKenzie thinks the Habs are really interested in Chris Phillips. The injury to Gorges plus the Gauthier/Martin connection to Phillips is why he thinks so. I can't remember where I saw that but I read it just the other day.

The Canucks dominate the faceoff circle as it is. Konopka would make them even tougher as well. He's cheap too. Zenon has less than 300 grand left on his contract & is an UFA at the end of the year.
