LOL Nobody in their right mind is going to pay Bryz $7-8 million when the very best goalies in the Nhl (aside from possibly Lundqvist at $6.875 million) don't make near that much.

He can get the fuck out of Philly and go play in Russia if he really is seeking that sort of offer out of the Flyers as well, because I can promise you that Holmgren will not be foolish enough to give it to him (the salary or the number of years).

The Flyers made this move in an attempt to persuade Bryz to take fewer years and fewer dollars for numerous shots at the Cup and not the other way around...lol

Trust me I dont in any way want to pay that kind of money for him, and I believe Homer wont even try to work with him if he is asking for that, but I am upset that he wants that because I do want Bryz on this team, just not at that price

I am fairly certain that those demands were meant to be more of a stretch than an accurate amount which he desires from any and all teams. Afterall, you can't expect to be the highest paid goalie in the Nhl when you just aren't even in that category or discussion. Give him top ten goalie money and the number of years he wants (within reason), but don't ruin the cap situation of the team for years to come by trading away Carter at $5.273 million just to add another Briere-esque number. Briere has been worth his weight in gold in the playoffs year after year as of late, so by no means do you take this to mean that he's still considered overpaid, but he is handsomely rewarded...lol

Luongo takes home 10 million per year. His cap hit is only something over 5 though.

"per year" sounds like it's an ongoing thing at $10m.
Not the case. That was largely a signing bonus.

he get's $10m this past year, then $6.7m for the next 7 years.
those are the big money years of the contract.
after that it drop to $3.4m, 1.6m, 1.0m for a couple of years
cap hit = $5.33m

If the players association didn't cave in to the demands of the NHL regarding the Kovalchuk contract there's a good chance the Luongo contract amongst others would have been voided. How would you have felt about that?

lol... ask me after Wednesday :fear: :drink:

as mentioned, the bulk of the peak years are at $6.7m.
If they wiped the long deal out and it was say 5 years for $6.7m, I'd be OK with something like that.
Lundqvist, Ward, Backstrom, Giguere(!) all have cap hits north of $6m. To me, the first three are a reasonable comparable group.

Good Luck Wednesday. Hopefully the game won't be over after 9 minutes.
