Although actual line matching is still appropriate at the right time, there have been advances in coaching strategy that Ruff seems to ignore.

The big thing though is that watching that team they just weren't competing hard for him anymore. His sulky, I'm-the-victim act got old for the Sabres I think. Hopefully they pick it up for whoever steps in.

Nope, Like dash mentioned in the GNT last night and I agree. Get the new guy in here let him work on his "system" the season is shot anyway so I like the timing.

Just that I'm surprised Pegula (let's be honest, Regier didn't pull the trigger on this, Pegula did) did it in the middle of the season.

I would have loved for Ruff to get a cup here, but the players tuned him out years ago, which is sad..When they were actually listening to him they won a President's cup for crying out loud! He will be missed, but I know that he will get a job plenty quick if not right away, at the end of the season. He took Canada to a gold medal in the Olympics, he's not ineffective when he's is listened too..

true, but we were close, and then the idiotic dismantlement that Golisano did set the team back and we just never seemed to get that groove back. I thought that with new ownership, they would at least start listening to Lindy again, but alas it did not. I wish him well...
