The Phillies will probably go with 12 pitchers, they never had any luck going with 11 in the past. There will be 2 reserve infielders and 2 reserve outfielders. Ruf is the odd man out because he is right handed. Amazingly, Ruf hits very well against right handed pitching, so Amaros logic is distorted in this case.

Probably not, but as Northeastphilly said, the Phillies have always kept a guy on the bench that batted lefthanded, whether its Nix, Thome, Dobbs, whoever
