Philly is going to be a force by then most likely or at least on the rise.... add another top 5 pick to what they'll have and they can use it to trade for a star. Looking WAY ahead, but interesting to think about for sure.

I can't wait to see where Miami is when they owe us their 1st rounders in 2019 & 2021, lol.

A guy busting his achilles isn't good for anyone. The Kings have already talked about signing Cousins to a 5 year extension, although it hasn't happened yet. The pick could still be really bad if they don't make smart moves around him over the next 2 years. Sure is tough to be a Kings fan.

Hinkie should seriously be in jail for the robbery he committed in this trade with the Kings. The fact that the Sixers could get a top 3 pick for giving up a 47th and 60th pick, is highway robbery. Also the Sixers got a rotation piece out of it as well with Stauskas.

It's a good time to revisit this thread from when the trade was originally announced.

Sixers just fleeced the Kings

That top 10 unprotected first round pick has since been turned into an unprotected 2019 first round pick...simply unreal.

Next year the 76ers will be a playoff team. Joel Embiid is a beast. Ben Simmons is a beast. I read that the coach wanted to put Ben at point. He would be absolutely unguardable at that position. Only if foot problems derail Simmons career could this be fucked up. Jahlil excels at PF with Embiids passing ability. Simmions is going to open up lay ups all day. Robert Covington is a great defender at SF with a developing skillset. All they need to do is sign some role players. If the Coaching sucks they will be OKC. If the coach can bring it together they can be good enough to challenge the Cavs next year and i think Lebron sees this and has been complaining a lot lately about his great roster lol.

Sam Hinkie for NBA Executive of the Year.

Philly could walk away with picks 1 and 4 this year. Signing big name FA is a possibility now too cause Philly is starting to look like an attractive destination. But if they walk away with the #1 pick in 2019 it could be HUUUGE!

It could be a case where initially the first round picks look like they may be in the 20s -- i.e., probably long shots. But then the team sucks -- and all of a sudden the picks look much better. (lottery or even the top pick)

Unless Philly is somehow able to maintain their recent form, which is unlikely, the Sixers will have two ping pong balls in the lottery for the No 1. pick. If the Lakers get a top 3 pick again, then the Sixers get their pick unprotected in 2018.

Sam Hinkie should be getting royalty checks from the Sixers organization.

Sam Hinkie received credit for 'tanking' and collecting young players as general manager of the 76ers, but his ability to identify talent and build a team remain underrated.
