Amazing. I've heard him say stupid shit like this in the past but this is the most shocking yet, especially since it is so recent. I've also seen people get hired for jobs that they are unqualified for and learn and work their way into being able to do perform. I figured a cocky motherfucker like this guy would have learned a little about stats and now play off any previous dumb statements he made by saying, "yeah, of course, everybody knows obp is important. I was just misunderstood before". But obviously he hasn't learned shit if he doesn't understand a simple stat like "Plate Appearances".

I doubt I would be good, maybe I could learn the position at some point, but going in now I'd only be better than Ruben, that's all I could say. I still hurt from that fact that MLB felt so bad the Phillies had no statistics department that they gave them someone to help them (when most teams have entire departments). Even worse is that Ruben still refuses to listen to the guy, because everyone knows that the human eye and brain is much better at evaluating.
