what would the royals record be if gordon was doing anything offensively?
2 WS titles?what would the royals record be if gordon was doing anything offensively?

He was certainly a disaster at 3B compared to other-worldly expectations; the Brett expectations were bizarre and completely out of line. He's been an excellent LF'er though, and by WAR the past 4 years, the best one. He might be a failure compared to what his purported offensive ceiling was, but I kind of do think he has more than redeemed himself with the glove, IMO. Definitely agree about the prospect comment. It's why I'll continue to be very skeptical of the Red Sox in particular, along with the Cubs, for a couple months at the very least.Hahaha. His OPS+ is 26.
He'll sort it out. Remember when he was a top-rated, can't miss prospect? That's why I never get too excited about prospects until they start paying dividends in the Majors. There have just been WAY too many "can't miss" busts. Don't get me wrong, I think Gordon is a solid outfielder and I'd be happy to have him on the tribe, but compared to what they said his ceiling was, he's a disappointment.

Wieters went from "Mauer with power" to "Power without Mauer"
One playoff berth.
I don't give a shit about comparisons. As I said, he was the top prospect in baseball. He's become a damn good outfielder, but he's not a top player in the league. I'm not shitting on him, but rather prospects as a whole.
Wieters is another one. I think he had one of, if not the, most offensively productive minor league careers in history. Now he's considered a defensive backstop.
Of course, Indians fans didn't go jacking themselves off over one playoff berth, but whatever.
You can name players on every team who not lived up to their hype. But whose fault is that? do we blame those hyping the player, or do we blame the player?
that's because they've made the playoffs 8 times since 1995
You can name tons of players for every team who were highly-touted prospects that didn't pan out. I've got over a decade's worth of Baseball Prospectus Annuals and looking through their top 10 prospects by year can be amusing.
I don't think it's a blame game at all, I think it illustrates the crapshootidity of prospects. I think fans need to be more aware of the fact that having a top farm does not guarantee future MLB success.
those would good for a few laughs
I'd love to go through those and see the names listed.
