I will happily stand admonished if he makes it, but, I just don't think he makes it.
Then I think you are severely underrating him. He finished in the top 5 in Cy Young voting 7 times. Something only Roger Clemens (10), Randy Johnson (9), Greg Maddux (9), Tom Seaver (8), Jim Palmer (8), and Pedro Martinez (7), have ever done. All of them are all time greats.

Halladay had so much respect for the game and no pitcher worked harder then him in between starts.

He was a joy to watch and I'm proud he retired a Jay. And yes he is a hall of famer

I'm glad to see he's retiring as a Jay as well. Whenever my team faced him when he was on the mound I always had that "oh shit, it's him" feel. Had a lot of respect for him.

It seems my earlier comment may have been misinterpreted by some to mean that I don't think Roy Halladay is a Hall of Famer, not so. I have great respect for Halladay, I also have a tremendous amount of respect for Jack Morris and his exclusion from the HOF is without merit.

Jack Morris deserves spot in Hall of Fame that would end Dark Ages - MLB - Tom Verducci - SI.com

Morris was basically his day's Andy Pettitte. Good career, but lacked the greatness/dominance' to be a HOFer in my opinion.

Morris was basically his day's Andy Pettitte. Good career, but lacked the greatness/dominance' to be a HOFer in my opinion.

Morris had more good seasons than Pettitte and was a bit more of a workhorse, but Pettitte didn't really have any bad seasons while Morris had a few real stinkers. Morris had 6 seasons of 4+ BWAR, Pettitte only had 3. However, Pettitte also had 13 seasons of 2-4 bWAR (2 being about average, 4 is good/AS quality) while Morris only had 4. Pettitte only had one season with an ERA+ below 100, and that was 97 (with 204 IP, so he was still a useful pitcher).

I don't think Pettitte's a HOFer, but I think he's got a better case than Morris.
