You know Bettman is hoping for that Nashville - Tampa Bay SCF.

Well, I am hoping for Preds/Caps.

For a number of reasons.

Wysh over at Puck Daddy was talking about that today. Just how the league may feel about certain match ups. Obviously they're over the moon about this matchup, but after this it's not as sexy of a sell. Pens have the biggest national pull because they've made it so, and Caps would get good numbers too. But if it ends up being NSH-TB they'd probably jump off a bridge. Isles have a big market, but they don't really have a big market following. Don't get me wrong, solid fan base, but it's not the Rangers wet dream that the league loves.

Yeah true the Isles might be big market but not the fanbase, sort of like the Cubs/Whitesox or Yankees/Mets.
You know NBC is hoping for who is left in the Sharks/Stars and Caps/Penguins. But even then if the Sharks make it against an east coast team that will kill start times.

Looking forward to going to this game tonight. Scored a free ticket in a luxury suite. Hopefully these teams beat the ever-loving piss out of one another.

As pumped as I am for this one, thinking back, I don't think it's possible to beat that 2009 series. Dueling hat tricks, Pens storm back, Caps win in OT on the brink in G6, Varly's coming out party, some controversy, three OTs. Really, from an outsider perspective, the only thing that wasn't crazy was G7 being a blowout.

I hope you have a red shirt.

They don't let you in without a red shirt.

I think Pens/Stars would be my favorite possible Stanley Cup final. All that speed, all that focus on using it. It would be awesome.

They sure don't let you in with a 412 area code...

If someone has their own area code I don't think they'll be able to get to the game anyway, or they'll be awfully uncomfortable in those little seats if they do.
