You seem to be confused, Brad Treliving is the current GM of the Calgary Flames.

/Also, let's get back on topic, what's the latest on MAF Pens fans?
Would love to hear one team where the GM acts independently of the president. Just one.

I think there's been more Leafs/Flames trash talking in this thread than Pens/Caps.

Step up your game, eloco! This is obviously all your fault and none of mine!

Leafs and Louie Lams?
Lams is not only acting out Shanahan's plan but also has two guys who are essentially co-GM's influencing his every move (not to mention a stacked analytics dept. that I think everyone would agree was something Lams didn't have nor wish for in NJ). If he had wanted the independence he had in Jersey for two decades+ he wouldn't have taken this job.

There just aren't any anymore. Every level of a front office in hockey today is so involved with the day-to-day that to think that even the more inconsequential moves aren't approved from the top floor is naive.

That's the scary thing though, the concussion history with MAF.
I'd trade for him. I just wouldn't give up anything significant and I'd probably take advantage to make the Pens eat salary.

Definite concern though.

Right and I agree, but you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to the Flames. It's as if Treliving doesn't matter and Burke makes all the decisions.

I get it man, he made a mess of your team, but he's been gone for several years now. Time to move on.

Still symptomatic off and on, but participating in limited practices. People have been confused by this, but it's sorta par for the course as far as research is leaning toward more activity after a period of rest for concussions. I'm really not overly worried at the moment, and I think that with Murray's emergence they're being painfully patient with him.

No different than when Linden catches shit when talking about the Canucks; it's just that the Canucks have a much more meme-worthy GM. I've given plenty of shit to John Davidson when talking about the Jackets with 43, and we all spent a decade piling on Kevin Lowe. It's not targeting, it's just obvious - especially when the Flames are suddenly giving lucrative deals to guys like Engelland, Raymond and Frolik.

It's even less a case of targeting when considering if I had to choose a second team to back in this league it would be the Flames.

And sorry but I will never get over how that lunatic set my team back a decade. Not when they're still trying to clean up the mess him and his subordinates left behind.

Does this mean I have to stop mocking MacLean?

So, who gets in the first cheap shot of the series? I have Tom Wilson at 4-to-1, although Kris Letang isn't far behind at 6-to-1.

Amazing that Cooke is still a longshot at 30-1.
