I wouldn't say the Broncos are short on cap space. We have something like $38 million for the upcoming year. The issue for the Broncos boils down to a few things when it comes to Romo...

1) How do they feel about their young QB's? If they like them then no reason to bring in an aging QB that just sets them back on their development.
2) What kind of starter could they bring in for the money he would get paid? I mean we are talking possibly $14-20 million here possibly so that could be 2 great starters on the OL that the Broncos need to fix or say a couple of defensive line starters.
3) How is the health of Romo? I mean I know he played a series at the end of the year and did well but actually getting checked out by team doctors do they really think he can hold up for an entire year?
If he's aquired in a trade his contract is 14M, next season its 19.5M but not guaranteed. I think he will work our a deal for much less if given a chance to start for a contender. I don't think his contract will be an issue his health will be.

So do you want Romo to go to a contender for a chance, or to the Browns where he cant hurt the Cowboys. You're trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Yes I am, but Denver, Houston,KC would be better for the Cowboys IMO. If I'm the Cowboys I don't want him a part of the NFC unless it's a bad team.

Yeah I doubt they trade for him. Sounds like most teams are expecting him to be released so will just hold out until the Cowboys are forced to play their hand. I'm honestly not sure what kind of deal he would settle for to go to a contender. That will be an important part of the equation. If he is willing to take a very incentive laden deal then yeah some contenders will be very interested.

And at least for the Broncos I would say health is secondary to how they feel about their 2 young QB's. IF they are expecting big things from them then I don't think there is a possibility of Romo coming to the Broncos at least. Plenty of teams though once he is cut will be fighting for his services.

Waiting for him to be released saves a draft pick, but it puts teams in a bidding war. I think Denver, KC, and Arizona have serious interest in Romo.

what's the difference of facing him in the NFC playoffs or the SB. By the way you do know Dallas plays Denver, KC and Arizona next season.

Denver, KC, Hous can't keep us from the getting to the Super Bowl. Now they can keep us from winning it.

I can tell you right now with certainty that the Broncos will not trade for Romo. IF he is cut they might look into what kind of price he will be asking but a trade is not going to happen. Elway loves him some Paxton Lynch and has done just about everything coaching staff wise with the thought of Paxton starting this season. Like I said Romo only comes if the price is just too hard to pass up.

What's the difference? Only ONE team wins the SB, what everyother team does doesn't mean jack.

Good luck with those guarantees on what an NFL franchise will do.

I just know how much Elway 1) loves Lynch and wants to get him as much experience in a hurry as he can and 2) really wants to hold onto those draft picks he has. Maybe for a 6th or 7th round pick he would be willing to trade but I can see it being like the Kaepernick situation last year where Elway only wants Romo at a certain price and even with his cheaper contract that is still more than Elway will want to gamble on a broken down QB.

And to me for the Cowboys it is more worth getting the cap space by the Post June 1st cut than a 6th or 7th round pick.

To some yes. I think most Dallas fans would have taken getting beat by NE in this yrs Super Bowl and ran with it .

I' think every team in the league has some effect on who is in the Super Bowl. They don't even have to plAy them. For example, I don't think NE needed any help but us beating Pittsburgh helped them.

Another example - I think 3 teams kept us out of the Super Bowl this yr and 2 of them we didn't even play

LMAO. If the Cowboys somehow get a pass rusher and lock down corner they will be in the superbowl next year regardless where Romo ends up. I can't believe I just said that, but Dak has the "it" factor. Romo simply showed numerous times that he is not that dedicated to football. The Cabo trip and earlier in his career he spent way too much time playing golf instead of becoming an elite QB. Dak on the other hand will learn from his mistakes and is incredibly dedicated to getting better, meanwhile we got "lip service from Romo. The reason why Romo has so many 4th qtr comebacks is because his poor play put them in a hole to begin with. This may work against Cleveland but in the playoffs Rome was exposed as slightly better than average

Not sure there is a lock down corner to be had.

I was mistaken regarding the Broncos cap position - probably had them mixed up with another team.

I am in no position to speculate on the Broncos QB position. I only saw Lynch once last year. I saw Siemien a few times. Siemien seems like he gets it, but doesn't have the arm talent. From what I saw of Lynch, he looked bad, but it was only one game.

I guess it's up to Elway to figure out if his guy Lynch is the real deal, and is ready to guide the team. Or, if he wants to make another couple runs at a Super Bowl with Romo while the Broncos still have a nucleus capable of doing it. Kubiak didn't seem like a believer in Lynch, and he had a high reputation when it came to working with/developing QBs.

Looking at Spotrac, with $33m in cap space and close to a full roster, looks like Denver could afford Romo's $14m in 2017 fairly easily and bring in a few new pieces on the Oline. But that would require a trade -- Romo on the open market will cost much more than $14m -- and you're dreaming if you think a 6th or 7th round pick is getting it done. Is his health a question? Yes, but you have to pay to play. And I guarantee some franchise will.
