Looks like the loyalty that Rod Marinelli had for Lovie Smith is not a two way street. Rod coukdhave been the defensive coordinator here but choose loyalty to.Lovie. Now Lovie has not returned the favor keeping Rod of his staff in Tampa....

I thought Rod was being looked at to be the defensive coordinator in Dallas and I thought still has a year left on his contract with Dallas. So first he would need permission and I doubt Dallas was gonna give it to him. Leslie Frasier should do well as the DC in Tampa, maybe smith knew Tampa wanted to get younger coaches and possible replacements for smith on the staff.

Rod was a d-line coach so ge could be offered the DC position in Tampa. He could have been into the second year as DC here had he not thought Lovie would bring him with his staff to whatever team he got

I believe, he would need permission if this was a horizontal move, but no permission would have been needed for a vertical move which a move from D line coach to D Coordinator is a vertical move. Obviously, there is something keeping Rod in Dallas... Grandkids? Jerry has "pictures" of Rod doing something illegal or immoral? Something.
