Mathis was a 5th Round pick, Houston a 3rd Round pick

Not very often I am wrong, but I was wrong about Mathis being the beneficiary of having Dwight Freeney line up opposite of him all those years.......or maybe he is better suite to play LB in a 3-4 rather than DE in a 4-3..

That will slow as teams adjust their protection to account more for them. Houston is a perfect example; he came into the season as the more unheralded pass rusher behind Tamba Hali. So teams naturally were more concerned about stopping Hali. Well Houston got 7.5 in 3 games, so the Giants focused their protection to stopping him, and yesterday he was shut out in the sack department. Instead, the Chiefs got 2 from Hali.
