Loved Wimpy when he was a guest commentator for games in 01. Never saw him play because I wasn't a baseball fan when i was 8, but he was a super nice guy and talked great about the game.
Loved TP as a player and a commentator. Even with the Braves, he was fun to listen to. Good memories.

You lived on Bainbridge Island?
No, I'd drive from Sequim to the ferry.

Depending on the schedule I'd do the Bremerton ferry sometimes as well. It was about the same distance to both from my house.

I loved parking my car and walking over.

Gotcha. I never knew how all that ferry system worked. I road it one time when I was in the 5th or 6th grade.

I was asking because I played JC basketball with a couple guys from Bainbridge Island. Before your time but was curious.

It was awesome. It was 2.5 hours driving to get to Seattle from the Olympic Peninsula, and most of the drive had awful traffic.

It was only an hour to drive to either ferry, and I could park for $5 back then, walk on the ferry and then make a very pleasant little walk from the pier to the Kingdome or Safe. No stress, just fun,

I wish I had grown up wealthy enough to live on Bainbridge Island lol.
