I told my brother the same thing when he was cut. My only ounce of hesitation was his $3.something left on his contract.
I knew Dipoto was going to try to get Leody Taveras the moment the Rangers cut him. This is such a Dipoto move. This guy's ceiling is about on par with Jesse Winkler and Al Martin.
I just read from one of the M's writers who said that now that we took on his $3.5M that could hurt their deadline spending.

But is it really taking on money when you consider they got a semi pay cut for Cal?

But are there any high priced guys even going to be available. I think the Robert train left the station, Vlad resigned. Not sure who else will even be available that wouldn’t just naturally having the other team eat a bunch of the salary to get higher rated prospect

Oh good lord. We need that money for qusality relief pitching and a decent multiple-position infielder who can replace any or all of Rivas, Mastrobuoni, Tellez, and Solano. None of those guys should be on an MLB roster. I like what Rivas has done so far but we all know he can't sustain it.

Its all bullshit. I am sure they will use the excuse, but there is no excuse for payroll restriction based on where they are at. They should have $50M to spend without even a pause.

Dead right. And you and I both know that this self-imposed restriction is just ridiculous. No such thing for billionaires who can make that money back 10-fold in a week.

Solano being gone should be a no-brainer.

I am starting to like The Mastro.

Rivas does thing to help but he also drives me crazy. How did he not move that runner over in the 11th yesterday? He has to be perfect in those situations for what little he brings.

Tellez was a big gripe of mine earlier, but he has had some nice moments. Would I prefer to have Pete Alonso right now? Sure. Hell Goldschmidt would have worked. I just don't know who we can replace him from if we want a platoon at 1B. I am all for Tyler for Solano change.

We should get a better idea about 3 weeks before the deadline as teams start falling out of contention.

Totally agree and even a miracle the M's are this high in the standings. Just imagine if these shit ass owners spent on 2 hitters where this team could actually be.

It’s bad enough to have one of those first basemen on your team, but they have two of the worst hitting first basemen in all of Major league baseball on the same roster just blows my mind

It is such a Seattle Mariners thing to do

Why are we bunting with our best Hitter up to the plate and a runner in scoring position?

My mind is still not made up on Dan Wilson as a manager, but boy here the past few games I’m just not seeing good decision-making

Two on no outs and Polanco bunts it in the air. Why is he bunting? Why can't he bunt even though there is no logical reason to be bunting?

100% with you on this. I am seriously missing Servais. That wasn't easy to write.

6-4-3 double play coming up with Aroz at the plate

Edited to add
I guess a strikeout is better than grounding into a double play. I’m glad I was wrong.

Bags packed one out game on the line middle of our lineup is up and we can’t even get a ball out of the freaking infield

Base loaded, so what. MF'ers!!!!!

Great Ab by Arozastinker. Waves at two sliders 2' outside for the K. Garver, the legend, pops up on first pitch to end all hope.

I saw the video of Garver‘s lackluster swing at that middle middle fastball. That was the most batting practice Looking swing. I think I may have seen watching baseball games for the past week or two

Zero commitment it’s like he was fighting off a middle middle fastball that was right down the pipe. 100% absolute cookie and he pops it up to the second baseman.

A typical M's inning. Gets the first two guys out no problem then the third guy bounces a ball up the middle where the 2B is playing but Brash decides a backhanded sweep move knocking the ball the other direction for an infield hit. Walks the next guy then hits the next. Bases loaded and new pitcher.

This game is about to turn on a dime real quick

Nobody out - runners at the corner and no slider Snider is on the bump.

things happen fast. about to lose 3 in a row and break the series win streak.

the a's are great. i've been watching a lot of guardians and o's, but i think i might replace the o's with the a's for the rest of the season.
