Does anyone have an update of how our leagues 1st overall has been doing? I've read a little about his training, but nothing on his actual play.

Gagner has a high ankle sprain so RNH will be getting more time playing centre with Taylor Hall

I've watched him a little bit, he's definitely got some skills, but he needs to put on some weight. I think another year in junior hockey would be the best thing for him, but the Magic Eight Ball the Oilers use says his time is now.

Is there still talk of him going back to the juniors or making the team? Still up in the air?

Appreciate the replies, guys. Thanks.

I can't wait until all of these guys on the Oilers hit UFA age. They're going to be in cap hell.

The sign of a true hockey player. At least Gretzky cried (after approving the trade).

I'm just hoping Jonathan Huberdeau doesn't stay up. The Sea Dogs will need him in their quest to repeat as Memorial Cup Champions, not to mention Team Canada could use both him and RNH at the World Juniors. He scored again tonight on a 5 on 3. If he does stay up though then I would love to see him win the Calder.

Portland is going to be loaded again. Baertschi, Rattie, Morrow & possibly Johansson & Nino. Although there's been talk of Nino getting 1st line time. I have a feeling he's going to make the team. I don't necessarily think he's earned it so far, but they might need the cap hit for the floor.

Larsson may beg to differ he has actually been extremely impressive so far and his size is surprising

There have been a number of impressive rookies in camps all over the NHL this year. It's amazing how these young guys are able to perform at such a young age. I've heard good things about Huberdeau, Joe Morrow of the Pens. Tim Erixon is going to be really good & soon. Scheifle of Winnipeg has been good as well.
