I hope you're right Auto but I don't think the defense is going to hold up. Martinek needs to stay healthy all year & that hasn't happened in awhile. I don't trust Gervais or Jurcina to be anything more than PYLONS.
Going into the season the Isles top 6 look like this:
Streit MacDonald
Wisniewski Eaton
Martinek Hillen
Now Gervais & Jurcina have 1 way contracts. This is why I don't think Hamonic or De Haan are going to make the team unless they blow everyone away at training camp.
Offensively Tavares is going to get his. Okposo needs to step up his game. He should have scored more than 19 last season & he's said so himself. We'll find out if Matt Moulson is more than a 1 year wonder. Blake Comeau looked like he finally figured it out until he broke his foot late in the year. Josh Bailey must continue to improve. They really need a top 6 forward but I don't know if it's going to happen. They were really hoping they could bring Kirill Petrov over this season.
They think Dipietro could finally be healthy going into training camp. Yeah right & I'm Santa Claus.

Dipietro has to pull through at least one year out of that contract, right?
I like the parity. I've liked seeing some of the rebuilt teams coming around. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like teams are quicker to jump the gun on the rebuilding process nowadays because a lot of other teams are.
I also love watching most young teams in the spring. Fighting to get in and that next level of confidence when they do.
Once in the playoffs however, young teams.......eh......not so much.
