Williams, 71, starred in film and TV series for almost 50 years. My favorite was the 1981 police drama, Prince of the City, in which he played Officer Danny Ciello who was the center of an investigation into police corruption in the NYC police department. The actor, 71, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vermont after being cut off by a car while making a turn. He was airlifted to a hospital where he died.

F n drivers somehow don't see a bike going straight down the road and take a left right in front of the rider.
A couple have been killed by them in the past month here.

You know, even when a driver is not in a hurry, an oncoming motorcycle can seem to fade into the background, whatever it is, houses, trees, etc., so when a driver is coming into the path of the motorcycle, when making a turn, if the driver or cyclist is not 100% alert, a disaster occurs. This likely happened in the Treat Williams accident.

I know because as a driver, it nearly happened to me. I looked both ways when making a left on to the main road near my house and didn't see the motorcycle until it had alertly sped up and passed right in front of my car as I abruptly stopped, totally startled, heart pounding. Just one of a few close calls I've had in over a million miles of driving.
