RIP. A little before my time but it looks like he had a pretty good career. 19 homeruns as a hitter. Not bad for a pitcher.

Shame they only gave out only one Cy Young in 1966 and he was lost in the shuffle to the mighty Sandy Koufax.

Check out the trio of Joel Horlen, Tommy John and Gary Peters. They were very good, but the Sox had a poor offense and didn't finish well in the AL.

Somehow I had never heard of Joel Horlen. He had a pretty solid run. Also pitched a no-hitter. The White Sox of the early 70's had some solid pitching, weak offense as well. Wilbur Wood was a machine. 97 starts between 1972-73 and 41 of those were complete games. I guess back then if you had an ace you roll him out there every 4th day and if the team has an off day, one of the lesser pitchers just gets skipped.
