you be you and forget about telling me what I am.

As I said...Benson was a great RB from Midland Lee High School and you said he was a total bitch.

It's pretty clear to me who the asshole here is

"muh-muh-muh hauuugh schoooo' runnin' baaayucks herrrooooes!"

"He was due for something bad to happen."

Others in this thread have some sympothy. You on the other hand seem to be saying he got what he desereved. Nice comment.

Anyone who drives while intoxicated gets what they deserve. Don’t know if he was..... but I’m willing to bet yes. So yeah.... he got what he deserved. Better him than an innocent family.

That's too bad... I remember Benson did okay for a while with the Bengals but still had a pretty lackluster career for a top 5 pick.

2005 draft... the moment that basically killed routine top 5 RB picks. 3 RBs drafted in the top 5. I can't imagine a world where we EVER see that again.

Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, and Cadillac Williams. All were pretty mediocre/lackluster careers for a top 5 pick.

You can have sympathy for his family while still not feeling empathy for him . People make bad choices , we don't know the full story here so it's wise to reserve judgement but given his past it's hardly a huge leap to assume it was his fault . There's nothing wrong with offering condolences to the family but using people's constant misdeeds as a cautionary tale

That's why I never go on threads and give sympathy for strangers. I haven't seen one person mention the young women who was a passenger who died, like she is less important. If he was in fact under the influence driving a bike, and could have avoided the crash, then he died as a murderer. I lost my 21 yr old nephew who was a passenger to a drunk driver who flipped his car

Spot on Sonny!!

Also, very sorry for your loss.

We also lost former Oklahoma RB Mike Gaddis (50) earlier this week. I've heard no cause of death.

I don't think anyone here is celebrating the fact that he died or saying this isn't a sad situation.

But if this is another drunk driving incident AND he took another life with him due to it, well...we can't pretend that's not part of it because it makes us uncomfortable, should instead be discussed as a lesson for others.

Remember when Ced took the starting RB job from that other RB in Detroit? Forgot his name.

Probably because that guy didn't exist because he never played in Detroit.

I could have sworn it was Detroit when there was a dispute between Benson and the back he replaced? Was it Cincy then?

I think it was Ryan Grant in GB.
