Not sure I would call him the best rookie ever, but he sure did improve as the season went on. Once he gets his experience and consistency down we could have ourselves a very good punter. I wasn't so sure at the start of the year, but with any rookie improvement over the year makes me very hopeful.

I can't wait until they give Dixon the go ahead to run for a 1st whenever he thinks he can make it. So many 4th and shorts were not - protected from the Punter running. I think Dixon will prove a giant asset as a punter and 4th down runner and passer.

Oh I agree. He definitely though showed plenty of promise that we have our punter for the next quite a few years. Nice to not have to worry about that area of the team and really nice to see a 7th round pick actually be a huge contributor to the team.

Comparing him and Colquitt we made the right choice in letting Colquitt walk and keeping Dixon. Dixon had 6 more punts but a better average and 6 more punts inside the 20. He wasn't miles better but for the price we paid him he was a lot better than Colquitt.

Sad a punter might be the best draft pick in 16. Happy with Dixon

It;s really hard to judge a punter from a position player but we have a lot to go off from our rookie class. Every draft pick made the team. Simmons and Parks played pretty darn well. Booker was up and down, but had a great showing to end the season and once we got him involved in the pass game he was a much different player, I am looking forward to what he can do with a better OL. Paxton Lynch barely saw the field but I think that was pretty expected his rookie year at the QB position. Wasn't impressed with him at all... Dixon may have had the most impressive look from his position, but I don't think our rookie class is anything to be down about right now. Simmons and Parks played big roles for us. McGovern didn't see the field, but we must like something we see. (I know this is going off the comment as you said " best rookie year" and not that you claimed to say it was a bad rookie class, but just saying)

Dixon did great, I like him

But Justin Simmons ( and Parks ) had the play of the year

Simmons looked like he was getting very comfortable at the S spot by the end of the season ..

Yeah Simmons was really starting to come around and Parks is such a great role filler... I envision Parks as one of those players that fans love for years, like David Bruton. I just see so much of the same role within the two.

Think how great he'd be if Alex Gibbs coached him up!

The Broncos had a punter in the early to mid60s - named Bobby Scarpedo (Notre Dame kid) - who gained over 200 yards from punt formation one year.

I think that's more than all of the RBs John Elway has ever drafted .. combined

I know that was a joke, but I just want to point out that Devontae Booker did have 612 this season. Average of 3.5 a carry. #ItcouldHavebeenWorse Looking forward to what he can do with an improved OL. (if we have one)

I do think a light bulb went off in Devonte Booker's head in the last 3rd of the season. Booker will be a very explosive player - with the catch and the run.
