What ever happened to the Bronco's Offense Coach Rick Dennison? I only hear about Kubiak's Offense and just don't see Dennison mentioned at all. Is he really a coach or just a figurehead?

Based upon the efficiency of our offense currently, I would say He's a labor faker

Furby sorry I have not answered you ...
Dennison is more noted as our OL connection with Gibbs .. He and Elway and Kubiak played Golf and been buddies for years ....

Dennison is not calling much my guess .. He is probably doing scouting and film work and OL blocking Schemes for Games ..to that I would say failing at this point is were he is at .. My thing is I see a few adjustments at half time not enough to make me go wow . Dennison is a great person to have on staff ..

Staff seems to be a decent bunch.. Not sure they are of the right stuff .. Right now we winning in spite of them...still not going to wright them off ... Elway is no dummy if he thinks this is needing more he will pull the trigger to fix .. Elway I do trust and I think he will not throw away a season .. so IMO we will get it fixed this season with this staff ..

A decent bunch? They are 6-0 right now. They have the #1 defense plus a top-5 Special Teams unit that was terrible last year. I would say this is more than just a decent bunch. Now yes the offense has struggled but this is something all who are not complete homers expected. Maybe not to the level they have but we knew the growing pains would take some time. I think they have done a great job. We haven't seen this kind of energy in Denver in a long time. That to me has a lot to do with the coaches.

Thanks, guys for the explanations. I was just puzzled about why we keep hearing -and seeing- Wade Phillips as the D coach, but I can hardly find a word about the O coach, Dennison. I guess he's just working behind the scene, and hopefully his coaching will come in to the limelight when the Broncos meet up with the Packers Sunday Night.

He looks like my Grand paw so I am probably going to be nothing but nice about him . If you want to hear more about him he talks every week at DB.com . Thing is he has always been solid . My thing with him I know he is not just a Drone but IMO I have yet to See him our a flavor .. My guess I will never his mind is not O or OL .. yes he has been the perfect Drone but to see maybe something Special I believe that would the D side of the Football .

The way I understand it one of the biggest reasons that Kubiak loves to have him wherever he goes is because Dennison really is a great Film watcher. He spends games up in the booth going over formations and tendencies that a team is running against us and is one of the voices to Kubiak that tells him what teams are really trying to do against us. As we have seen the offense is getting more consistent at moving the football. I think they are figuring out more and more what works with this system. The problem is so far they can't seem to finish them. Either there is a huge blown assignment especially on the OL blowing up a play, a penalty, dropped ball, and of course all the turnovers. There is a ton of confusion among the Offensive players. This is where I do blame some on the coaching staff. They decided it better to introduce the entire playbook during OTA's and Training Camp instead of just easing everybody into it. I would also say the whole trying to blend the two systems while it sounds decent on paper has been met with disaster in the communication department. Against different formations on the defense a receiver will run one route in the old Manning offense and a different one in the Kubiak offense. This is where they need to really secure the route tree of what a player does in any given situation. It is why I think simplifying everything would be huge.

I thought they was 6-0 ...lol I think that is why I said decent ...What is really happening is they need to look at what the last staff has already learned for them and the one guy that bridges all this together ... Alex Gibbs work was brilliant use the stuff and wham the best O in the history of Football !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Few problems with your theory...The Broncos don't have the weapons this year that they did that year they made history. They don't have a receiving TE that can really open things up on the outside and that can win especially around the goal line. They don't have that slot guy that is in perfect sync with Manning that on those key 3rd downs can somehow always get open. They also had a more veteran group on the OL with Beadles and Franklin having played together for a few years while having other veterans step in and start. This year that just hasn't been the case for the OL plus when you throw in the injuries it makes it that much harder for them to be playing at the level of the 2013 team.

That 2013 team just had the perfect combo of weapons. Right now we have DT and Sanders and really nothing else. I would say DT hasn't really been much of a weapon either. Manning also just isn't quite the same QB. That 2013 QB would have loved to have teams playing him like they are and just heave it deep to Sanders and DT. Right now that timing and especially consistency just isn't there.

What most don't understand is OL Coaches are keys to the O ... They give it life ...

Right now we have no rhythm ...this team keeps finding what little rhythm it has from last year . and last year was a mess they need to reboot . I get what this staff is up to and yes they are right with the right QB .. problem is we still have what we have ..

I have no problem with blowing the thing up at the end of the season but we are were we are do what we do best and stop trying to figure out what we do best . that is well know what this team does best it is called 2013 season that season will not be beat . they sould use that and build off it ..Yes it could be better with more Running Game and more deep passes .. I am not saying to not utilize this staff .

You say that like it has been tried and failed ... I say screen the NFL into submission and see if it fails ..hell try it on the pack because they are going to have there ears pinned back and they will be at all cost crashing the pocket !

Well right now the Screen game has been pretty hit and miss. I have seen a few look really good and others that teams are just sitting on right now. I did like that we saw some of the misdirection plays work against Cleveland 2 Sundays ago where Manning did the roll out plays and hit them for decent yardage. To me that will be key moving forward as it will cause that DE to hold just a hair longer in the run game opening up those cut back lanes all the more.

To me right now my key to getting the offense on track is that of the run game. We start getting more of that 4 yards on 1st down and it will completely change how this offense functions. Teams have not actually been loading the box counter to popular opinion. The problem is that we haven't been winning the battle up from even against light boxes. We start winning those battles and making teams have to respect the run game then it should open up the passing game that much more. Guys are not just flooding back into those middle zones taking away the passing lanes Manning wants to hit. It also causes the DL players to not just key in on the pass game and attack Manning. To me that is more the key. If this OL is finally healthy and having a chance to practice together while also getting CJ Anderson healthy again I could see this run game really start to click.

One last thing I know this staff can do this ..Gibbs taught them .. I just been really pissed that this was not there jumping board(2013) is all .. they kind of fell on it in the last few game when the screens helped out the OL and keeping the DE's home

Really? I don't recall you or anyone else who regularly posts on this board writing this past offseason that we should expect the offense to struggle. I know that I am surprised by our poor offensive production. Guess I'm a "complete homer".

I'm pretty sure many of us talked about how the transition would take some time especially with so many new moving parts on the OL and everybody learning a new playbook. I didn't expect it to be this bad by any means. I figured more middle of the pack moving towards the top-7 by the end of the season. Instead we have seen bottom-5 offensive production with the hopes of maybe moving towards middle of the pack.
