Is indifferent an option?

Sherman is all about the publicity. He eats that shit up. All I care about is what he does on the field.

I think he might be referring to the Madden Curse, which I'm also indifferent about. Hey, Sherman wasn't on the 2013 Madden cover and he got hurt in the Super Bowl. Guys get hurt in this game.

As for the topic, I'm for it, sure.

Eh don't care. Sherman loves this crap. He thrives on it and the more you call him out or put him out there, the more he feels rising to the occasion. I pity the receivers and/or players that try to trash talk him.

If you bring it and beat him he's all about patting you on the back/butt, clapping, and applauding, but man oh man - it doesn't swing the other way. You can tell he REALLY gets inside the opponents head. I haven't seen such good trash talking in NFL history (granted I didn't start watching football avidly until the mid 90s so don't rail me if you're some old fart).

Correct, guess I should have been more specific, I think the whole curse thing is silly but was wondering if any of you guys might be wary of it.

Can it be the pic of "the tip" if so then yes!

Hasnt the madden curse cooled off the last few years? Megatron recently?

YUP, Your Dunce Kaep is a CHANGED man after his latest 'exposure' with the law.

Great talent, apparent great GPA and wonderlic score, but extremely dunce in the topic of logic, life success and reading the D.

Go Hawks. :suds:

Well Seahawks fans might want to read this article first before you think it isn't a big deal. The guy does make a good point that part of the reason could be that most players are coming off an exceptional season meaning they taxed their body quite a bit. This could also be a big reason for the Super Bowl slump in having to play the extra games leading to a bit more wear and tear on the body. Anyway some of the choices like Drew Brees' season where he actually was not hurt but attributing it to losing a playoff game where they were 11 point favorites is a bit far fetched but it does show usually the teams with the Madden Cover don't fare quite as well...

Wouldn't it be amazing if this were the Madden 14 cover?!

Also it depends on your definition of cooled off...Johnson's team went on an 8-game losing streak at one point and went from dark horse Super Bowl team to top-10 pick. He also admitted that he played most of the season with 3 broken fingers making it a bit more difficult throughout the season. He also missed 2 games during the season because of a knee injury which he had to have surgery on after the season was over as well as on his fingers.

The year before that was Peyton Hillis who went from local hero to struggling to even make an NFL roster after the next season. He had many injuries throughout the year and when he did play was a shell of himself. He also had veteran teammates have to pull him aside and talk to him about his attitude.

The year before that Drew Brees and the Saints made it to the playoffs and he didn't have any injuries but they did lose what is now deemed as one of the bigger upsets in playoff history losing to the then 7-9 Seahawks.

The year before that Polamalu and Fitzgerald were on the cover. Polamalu missed most of the season with multiple injuries while Fitzgerald got injured right before the playoffs and had to miss the playoffs because of a rib injury.

The year before that saw Brett Favre tear his bicep during a very good season that looked like was going to head to the playoffs before a major collapse.

The next year saw Vince Young miss his first games ever of his career with a knee injury which then lead to him being benched later on as Collins started playing better than him.

I could go on but will stop there. Every player except maybe Johnson could say they had some kind of collapse because of injury or otherwise since they graced the cover. Now I don't believe in the Madden Curse other than like I said in the post above the fact that most players who grace the cover it is because they had a lot of quality snaps the season before meaning more wear and tear on the body. It could also mean players targeting that player to show they are not afraid of them. Who knows but I do think there is something to it.

Joey Porter was in your time… Probably not as clever or good as Sherman, but definitely one of the more vocal shit talkers in the game during his years in PIT.

"DEY SHOT ME IN DENVER!!!"

or

Right around :25 you will hear him chime in over the mic.
