It's difficult to keep track of 90 man rosters. I've got serious high hopes for Heuerman this upcoming season. We hardly knew ya, Dick. Long may you wave.

Everytime I see Richard Gordon TE, I think of Richard Quinn TE

Richard Quinn .. The guy McDaniels traded up for, picked in the 2nd round of the 2009 draft, and who retired in 2014 .

Total NFL receptions:

1 catch for 9 yards

Thanks Josh

While reading about the 2009 draft, I had forgotten about Alphonso Smith ( .. can't blame me for that )

The Broncos selected Smith in the 2nd round (37th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Broncos traded their first round pick in 2010 in order to select him. This trade, among other poor decisions, led to the firing of coach Josh McDaniels. The pick Denver traded to Seattle was used to select Pro Bowler Earl Thomas.

I know it sounds nuts, but I have thought it before, and that Josh McDaniels intentionally sabotaged this organization

I love how you felt the need to explain who he was. Like we forgot him.

He is still my least favorite draft pick and move ever!

There were a lot of head scratching decisions...

Trying to get rid of our franchise QB of the time
Isolated our best WR in Marshall at the time (now given both of these decisions did net us some nice draft picks and both players probably did need to get out of Denver with all that happened)
Coaching staff seemed to not like him
Drafted some very interesting players

There is definitely a case to be made that he was more about sabotage than about building a winner. Now given all of that lead to us getting John Elway and winning a Super Bowl so if that is what it took I guess I would do it all over again.

Thing about Smith was he was at least a good college CB with ballhawking skills, something we needed. The downfall was giving up a first rd pick for a small CB who fell due to a bad 40.

But at least he was good coming out.

Richard Quinn wasn't even good in college.
