Granted, this is only the 3rd game, or so, that I've been able to really watch Griffin play, and there's still plenty of time to see just who was the clear winner in all this, I gotta say... it's starting to look like we really dodged a bullet. And a very profitable dodge, at that.

What's the deal with this kid?? Last year was nothing short of stellar. This year? He looks AWFUL. He's sailing more passes than he is hitting on. He's making quite a few poor decisions with the ball. His mobility has been utterly useless, if not non-existent. In short, he looks absolutely lost out there (as I typed that last sentence... he went down yet again).... (Damn... and YET AGAIN. Two plays in a row around the 6:15 mark of the 4th quarter.). Wow... just wow.

If I were the casual observer and you told me the Rams basically traded RG3 to the 'Skins, for Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Zac Stacy and what's starting to look like (at least, at this point) a top 10 draft pick in 2014.... I'd ask if the Redskins' GM has been skipping his monthly CAT scans. Either that... or if the deal was made at gunpoint. Hell... even as an avid observer, I'm wondering the same thing.

I gotta say, this game has only served to bolster my faith in Les Snead and Jeff Fisher, to have the ultimate wisdom to fleece the 'Skins and build OUR team smartly, through multiple picks, rather than banking on the flavor of the draft.

Still kinda wish he would have pulled it together enough to beat the 49ers, though. Lol.

Regardless of how he turns out I give it the thumbs up. Rams got a lot from that pick. Brockers, Janoris, Ogletree...

Kyle Shanahan is about the worst offensive coordinator that you can imagine.

Red, I don't know about a soph slump to the max? He is still on pace to throw for more yards than Sammie ever has in any one year! Griffins oline is horrible, yes worse than Sammies ever was! Griffin gets sacked a lot and he is a mobile, scrambling QB, imagine what Sammie would do behind the Redskin oline!

I wanted Griffin when he came out of Baylor, but we did the right thing, a lot of good draft picks obviously trumps 1 good QB. People earlier in the year were ripping our horrible draft selections, in the big picture we have drafted quite well over the past couple of years, there have been a couple of questionable picks, butALL teams have those!

Heres hoping for a couple more good picks from the Griffin trade!:suds:

If you really want a QB, this trade allows you to do so with a possible top 5 pick in a QB rich draft...then still make your usual first round pick. You gave Sam a few more years to try to get on track, if you think he still won't then you can now move on, on someone elses pick.

Unless Bob goes on to fix his mistakes or you guys get the next Jamarcus Russel with the pick, not sure how it can't be a win for the Rams.

Exactly... it has to be looked at as a MAJOR win for the Rams. Essentially we ended up with Brockers,Jenkins,Trumaine Johnson and the 2 picks we will get in May (hopefully Jake Matthews and either Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans)

It's looking pretty good this year. At least for the Rams. Tampa needs to keep winning, Minnesota and Houston and Atlanta need to start winning and Washington needs to keep losing!

Looking great for us. Redskins are 3-8 and have a tough schedule remaining (Giants, Chiefs, @ Falcons, Cowboys, @ Giants). Could potentially have a top 5 draft pick next year.

Griffin had major knee surgery and wasnt and still isnt 100%
His offensive line sucks
His OC sucks
His recieving corps is mediocre

He still has major upside and has the ability to become a top tier QB in the NFL

Could you imagine drafting Clowney with the Skins pick? Move Long inside next to Brockers and just go out and absolutely dominate the trenches.

Clowney would be nice but I like sjsharksfans88's suggestion. Take that guy if we pick that early because we can use him for the next ten years on an O-line that will need some eventual help. WE can select a stud DT later in the first round if the Rams go that route, but because we are now 8 deep in the D-Line and if Langford leaves, we still have Conrath and Cudjo waiting in the wings and Brodine on the practice squad. We don't necessarily need to rush out to get a D-Lineman.

An O-lineman is more pressing as a BPA because all we have now is Shelly Smith, who is pretty good but not quite a Jake Matthews. One is a guard and the other a tackle and Barksdale is really playing quite well with Saffold alongside of him. So further still, we could conceivably go QB or BPA which would be Matthews. Since we are getting better, many more draft scenarios begin to develop.

Retro are you really sold on Cudjo and Conrath? I haven't seen them do anything this year. I know you mentioned in a previous post before about Cudjo but i haven't seen him much in the lineup so I'm not as sold on him as you are. Besides he's only 311, and most run stuffers are usually around 335?

Cudjo gets in now and then and he has made some boneheaded plays but he rotates in with William Hayes and Sims and that bunch. Conrath has been in and out as well. He played in the Houston and Tennessee games. They are good fillers for now, but the point I was making is that we don't necessarily have to take a DT in the first round of the draft because of those guys unless we have no other choice than BPA which we seem to have an aversion to selecting in recent drafts.

Well... kinda. Lol. He was sort of the "by-product" of traded draft picks afforded to us by the original deal. We used traded picks to move back up the board to get him.

Washington's pick now at #2 or #3, depending on who you believe (lol) based on SOS between the Skins and Jags. Stupid Houston had to blow their upset of the Patriots.
