It's hard to say what we could get for Cousins. Remember, Bradford cost a 1st and a 4th that could have been upped to a 2nd - but the Vikings were desperate. Nobody's desperate now.

Cleveland who just cut one guy and originally announced that they are going to cut the one that they just traded for are jonesing badly for an answer at QB. Maybe not quite desperate, but I'll bet that they would do a deal for Cousins yesterday if Bruce and Dan made it known to them that Kirk was available at the right price.
I wonder if Dan will say no trades, until draft day when someone throws in the kitchen sink?

Problem with this is, the Browns could offer the Skins nine first rounders... If Kirk wont sign a long term deal with the Browns, they aint going to deal for him. Kirk always has the option to NOT show for the team he is traded to, in which case he reverts to the Skins in seven days. The Redskins arent going to deal Kirk to some place he doesnt want to go because he has already signed his tender. They could force a trade, but no one is going to give up what you guys are hoping for if they feel Kirk will refuse to sign long term with them. And I dont see Kirk signing long term with the Browns.
One of three things is going to happen
1. Kirk plays this year under the tag for the Redskins
2. Kirk gets dealt to the Niners, because I think thats the only place he will agree to do a long term deal
3. Kirk signs long term to stay in DC.
Always the pessimist huh? My counter, Kirk could reject a trade to the niners too. Anything is possible, including a trade to Cleveland where in opposition to what you believe he signs a new deal there.
Thing is, I actually like Kirk, so I wouldnt want to see him go to the worst place possible for his career.
I was thrilled with the QB move the Browns made last year though.
Side note... you willingly go to the Browns when you have no other options.
I like Kirk too, but business is business and if he want out I send him to a place where he'll get all the love that he wants in the form of the contract that he wants. To me it's always business.
And the businessman in me says, Cleveland means within 4 years IM out of the NFL
SF means barring injury, I can probably get 6-10 more years playing because the HC is going to give me everything I need to do well.

You might be on to something. They might be the key to the whole thing IF the LTD doesn't get done. I don't know about you all but at this point, I don't think either side wants an LTD and I think it would be insane to hold on to Cousins just to spite him and punish SF.
There's a lot of animosity between the Shanahans and Snyder, I really don't think that he will ever entertain the idea of letting Kirk go to San Fran. Agreed, I believe that neither side wants a LTD at the numbers that each would prefer. It's really too bad that there hasn't been enough give and take both ways.
Its a disaster.
I also agree that this team needs to draft Joe Mixon. He is going to be one of the best players in the draft to be honest. Our RB is terrible. I like Kelly but he is more of a #2 back.
This team just has too many holes to be honest. We have to knock out as many problems as we can this year and try to finish up next year. We can't keep saying that we will address the problem "next year".
I'm with you on Mixon, even if we somehow kept Kirk and got this guy It makes the QB'ing job so much easier. Kirk is not invincible and we may end up seeing Colt anyway if suddenly Kirk develops a long lasting high ankle sprain or one of those mysterious Achilles tendon problems like Doctson has.![]()
