I didn't know any Bosox fans who blamed Buckner personally for that...the guy could barely even move with his fucked up ankles. Motherfucking McNamara should have had Stapleton in there, anybody knew that Billy Buck had to come out for defense at that point of the game!!!!
Schiraldi....well, the kid was a rookie, but I still sort of hate him. And sort of pity him. Bob Stanley was a vet and shouldn't have fallen apart like that.

Buckner made it much worse than it was. If he had laughed it off, the pain would have gone away years ago. The dude virtually went into seclusion. Just unfortunate all the way around. No one can pretend to know what that would feel like.

Yeah, must be...that was a very emotional moment and there are rumors that even I teared up for Billy Buck. I was pissed about the "All Is Forgiven" shit, the man did not need to ask forgiveness for anything. Bill himself said he held nothing against the fans, but it took a while for him to forgive members of the media for the way he was treated (I'm guessing the Curly Headed Boyfriend was one of the worst offenders).
