Spent the day parked in front of the television watching the ticket. The one thing that stands out most about the NFL this season is the officiating. These guys are complete clowns. We had a DT (Peko) throw an opposing players cleat 30 yards and not get a foul. Binns was rocked by a clear helmet-to-helmet with no penalty and the clock had to be adjusted at least three different times. The Eagles/Ravens officiating was a complete nightmare. And to top it off, I think all these games are running about 30 minutes long because the officials can't figure anything out.

I don't care where you stand on unions, you have to admit this is getting ugly.

yes, bring back the pros so we can complain equally about them screwing things up and favoring the Steelers.

This is the worst part. The NFL even pushed back the start of the 2nd set of games 15 or so minutes, yet they're still running over. That Baltimore/Philly game was a great game and I missed the last 2 minutes because they went so much over.

These guys just are not seeing holds. Offensive holding calls especially are few and far between.

I disagree with that. Seems like there were 20 offensive holding calls in our game. (yes I know I am exaggerating)

I think week 1 they did a decent job. But it was clear this week that they were replacement refs and not pros at it.

In the Seattle/Dallas game Golden Tate made a vicious block leading with his helmet connecting on the Dallas player's helmet. Almost took his head off, player in fact leaves game with concussion. Now there was a flag on the play, but it was for Dallas :noidea:

The MNF are now being embarrassed. First they mess up an easy call (ball tipped shouldn't be pass interference), but even worse the Denver coaches are flat out intimidating them. They look like scared children.

The NFL needs to fix this. It's pathetic.

If it wasn't pass interference, it was defensive holding since there was contact prior to the tip and beyond 5 yards.

If a pass interference can be reversed, then they should be able to replace it with defensive holding.

Agree on the intimidation factor.

The refs are getting worse as players are trying to get away with a lot more only highlighting all the things the refs are missing.

Very interesting. Refs call Atlanta ball, but Denver comes up with it.

They're an embarassment....and it is just going to get worse. The head official in tonights game is clearly in over his head. Classic 'WTF am I doing here' expression written all over his face.

I kind of feel bad for them. This is all on the NFL.

At the very least coaches should continue to get challenges as long as they keep getting them right. This should be the case even with the real refs, but especially with the replacements. It'll never happen though as it would be mean the league is admitting the replacements are screwing up.

I agree. These guys are in over their heads and it's getting ugly.

This is exactly what needs to happen though.... The NFL is so greedy - They know they can get away with murder (such as a commercial every 30 seconds in the game) and the sheep (us) will keep watching. But this pushes the line. They better hope stars don't start getting hurt.

I feel bad for those guys too. They're not qualified for their positions and millions of people are watching them crash and burn. They were totally set up to fail. The longer this goes on the more we will see these guys totally lose control of the games (like we're seeing tonight).

it could be worse...I remember one year they had 'Mike and Mike' do the second game in the season opener. Brutal.

Can you imagine if that CB would've had a pick 6 on that phantom PI call?

Peyton Manning is the winner here. Now it will take at least 2 more weeks before people start writing articles remembering his career. He's finished.

Manning will never be what he once was, but he's far from done. He's still a top 10 QB.
