US ARMY retired /mod.
this is my best ranking but guys a case can be made for other views . here is mine
game changer at any position . we dont have a guy that has to be game planned for sans reed and a healthy DJAX . a game breaking runner on offense , a dominate center , a dominate d/lineman , a force at ILB our in the secondary anyone of these areas would be huge
now for the real positions
DE , this is my top need and it wasnt going into the season . we simply need some young d/lineman with high motors because our line wears out as the game goes on and age is a factor we need a couple of man children in there to disrupt the offense both vs the run and pass
C center has been a glaring need for years . simply put we dont have a guy who can anchor in pass protection we have a possible solution in Long but i would feel better with nick martin
LG long did a decent job and Kujo could make a moses type jump ( which i think he can ) but i wouldnt pass on a quality OG in the draft
if you notice my top 3 needs have to do with the LOS . my philosophy is if you have strength at the point of attack then a lot of problems can be solved . we have great coaching in the o/line and some young prospects will flourish
ILB we need a sidline to sideline guy like a ragland , smith or scooby wright to take charge of the defense on the field and snuff out the run game with sure tackles and who can defend the pass
safety we need a tall rangy ball hawking center fielder . i like the 6-5 220 jayron kearse here but we do need a pair of quality safeties . hall and goldston are stop gaps . we may have one answer in jarret who covers well enough to be a viable slot corner
CB we need a tall ball hawking guy in the 6-1 to 2 range who can be physical at the LOS and cover deep . we may have one in dunbar but another one would be outstanding . breeland culliver and dunbar appear to be a good starting point with blackman being a stop gap type . another tall guy would make this unit formidable
TE we could use a tall strong blocking guy here who can catch the occasional pass to keep a defense honest . i like our TE core with reed paul carrier/paulson but i would pass on a TE at the right spot
RB we need another guy with size and burst . ammo used to have that but a guy who can work in tandem with jones ( who i think will get better in year 2 ) and thompson who can catch the ball and make plays
well there it is . now you can argue the order but those are the needs as i see them
