@john_keim Week 1, should we expect Scherff at G or T? #Jkmailbag
— Jay (@RedskinsCult) August 7, 2015
Keim: Good question. Several days ago I would have said tackle, but now I'd lean more towards guard for two reasons. One: Brandon Scherff is a better fit inside and would provide a strong building block. Two: Morgan Moses has improved enough to warrant strong consideration. I think the Redskins like the combination of Scherff and Moses more than they do Spencer Long(at guard) and Scherff. It's not what I expected when they drafted Scherff, and I've never been a big fan of drafting guards in the top 10. But now that they have, the goal is to maximize the value -- and one thing people always say about tackles is that if they can't hack it outside, they can always be moved inside. I don't think that means he'll only play guard in his career, but it means that he might start out at this spot.
