Quick was outstanding and Gus matched that effort pretty well. Apparently, though, it's quite obvious from what we saw here that apparently when you play in LA, you throw the rule book out with the trash; boy, do they get away with a lot of violations. Rooney and Rehman definitely need a serious review by the NHLOA. In spite of that, though, it was a great game.

Not really. If they didn't institute that rule, the dinosaurs would still be in the game, since you wouldn't have to be fleet afoot anymore, just box a player in and grab hold all day long. Great rule IMO.

I have to say that I was wrong on that one; I predicted that they would grab some home cooking for the hometown guys, but they showed a lot of class for selecting Gus second to Quick, then Kopitar 3rd. It seems inevitable that Kopitar will almost always be in the top three by game's end; he is dangerous anytime he steps on the ice.

I saw a ton of interference on both sides not called tonight. Refs are in playoff mode early this year.

I meant the over the glass rule. I never think it is intentional. If they treated it like icing and didn't allow a change I think that would be a better compromise.
