I don't they get past Cleveland anyway.

That was a loaded squad.

Yeah they were

Nothing more frustrating than watching Edgar Martinez bat .975 against the Yankees in that series and going 0fer the whole Indian series

Absolutey on Tex and Arod.

I think Tex's whole season has been covered by insurance?

Did I hear that right?

While true, they're still on the hook for the luxury tax that is in part due to Teix's salary...which is what I reall think the yanks are trying to get out from...

That Indians team was one of the best ever not to win a WS IMO.

Probably the best in my 38 years on this earth at least.

What a lineup.

Something like 90%. They only paid him this year for the 2 weeks he came back before he went out again.

Of course, they ended up stupidly giving that windfall to the mongoloid that used to play 3B for Boston.

It was that god forsaken Kingdome.

Even when the Yanks were good, and Seattle horrible, Yanks couldn't win there.

Oh man....those teams were scary. Lofton-Vizquel-Baerga-Belle-M. Williams-E. Murray-Alomar and even a glut in the OF with guys like Sexson, Giles, Burnitz and S. Casey. Unfortunately, Charles Nagy couldn't carry the team as the ace.

Speaking of Seattle, Sox get to play against the two best starter ERAs in the league. Hurrah.

We could all see that ending in disaster a mile away. Why couldn't Cashman?

LOL

Is there any doubt he's got folks in Miami on speed-dial to get the latest on A-Rod's pending suspension?

"Uh Guys, he's through game 3 of his 20 game re-hab....can you hurry the fuck up???"

Last team to score 1000 runs, if I'm not mistaken.

For all the good it did them.

I dunno.

He got Wells and Hafner on bargain deals, then decided to splurge on Youk for some inexpicable reason.

Didn't make a lick of sense to me then...sure as hell doesn't now.

Yeah, and you didn't even mention Thome and Manny...

What a team.

Yeah - I thought twitter gate was particularly revealing as to Cashman's intentions. Most GMs with any other player: "That's great news about _______, but I'd temper that with the fact he hasn't been cleared by team doctors."

Cashman with Arod: "Shut the fuck up [and don't let Lloyds of London know]".

Heh heh heh...

This gives me a mental image of Cashman pacing madly and saying "Wapner...definitely time for Wapner..."

2 AL pennants...nothing to sneeze at.

But yeah, they underachieved with that amount of talent they had.
