Red Sox At stRays Series, Starting Sept 10 2013

Tonight Clay Buchholz makes his first MLB start in far too long.

He probably won't be sharp this game, but we know what he's capable of. So cut him some slack for 2-3 starts.

Scheduled stRay starter is 27 year old David Price, who's season WHIP is 1.117 and career WHIP 1.164.

Raise BOTH those numbers this game Red Sox!

Wish this series had more meaning for this division. Even with a Rays sweep the Sox still have a fairly comfortable 4.5 game lead. Boston has played unbelievably well as of late and the Rays stunk it up out west. Just hope the fans show up and we take 2 of 3 at least. We need it a lot more than Boston does but they've been such a sound baseball team all year. Gonna be a tough series. I'll be at all 3 games.

Something I can't help wondering about any time I see a Rays cap:
Doesn't it bother Rays fans that the initials on it are also an abbreviation for
"tuberculosis?"

It would bother me if I lived in Florida or knew anyone who had that disease.

Let's leave it at Derk Lowe having more confidence in Breslow than I do.

I hope Breslow lives up to Lowe's expectations rather than down to mine.

Breslow, sad to say, came closer to my expectations than Lowe's.

Leadoff walk, 12 pitches before he got an out, and needed a great play from
Pedroia to end the inning.

Who warmed up during this scary inning?

Cobb's season and career WHIPs are both better than Dempster's. Let's hope that
is not predictive of the result.
