It 's mildly unfortunate that we're playing the Orioles this week,
because beating them could help the Sinstripes stay in the Wild Card hunt.

For Baltimore, tomorrow's scheduled starter is 30 year old Scott Wynne Feldman,
in his first year with the Orioles after 8 with the Texas Rangers and last season with the
White Sox.

His season WHIP is 1.117 in 12 starts, 77 innings pitched That works out to 6.41 average innings/start.

For us it will be Ryan Dempster making his 29th start of the season, with a 1.463 season WHIP.

Let's hope the Sinstripes lose to whoever they're facing so they won't gain any ground if we win our set.

GO RED SOX!

Sinsripes are also off tonight and will visiting Toronto while we're hosting Baltimore.

Us at home while the Yankees are not always sounds promising to me.

I, for one, care a lot more about seeing NYC miss out than who we'll face
in the 1st round. NYC-free postseasons haven't happened as often as I wish
they had in my lifetime.

I don't know about the Orioles but I do know the Rays don't have any off days until the end of the season so perhaps regardless of what the Red Sox do in this series the Yankees might still make it in the post season

Today's Sinstripes at Toronto game will feature an old-folks-home pitching match-up,
Pettite vs 38 year old R. A. Dickey.

Dickey comes in ahead of Pettite in both season and career WHIPs.

For these next 3 days anyway, GO BOSTON and TORONTO!

More meatballs, please, Mr. Feldman!

Was there ever any doubt about that ball being a 4-bagger?

If Eckersley doesn't want to ride in the blimp he can let me take his place!

I think most things look BETTER from a height than they do at ground level.

Fear of heights is something I know other people have, but find very hard to imagine.

Enough of that, let's score some more runs,Red Sox!

Another example of how the Monster can take away homers as well as give them.

That would have been GONE in a park with more normal fences.

Again, is anybody else going to post here tonight!

Speak up, Red Sox fans!

Always liked Victorino when I watched him in Phillies games, and I'm liking him more now!

When was the last time Breslow had a clean inning?

He is forever getting into tight spots and driving me nuts in the process.

We're winning the pitch count battle tonight!

Someone on the Oriole forum has already accused Chen of "pitching scared in September."

BLEEP J. J. Hardy!

Add to the lead next inning, Red Sox! :yahoo:

I'd say we take 2 out of 3, just hoping Ellsbury comes back for the playoffs. Will need him for a WS run.
