In Marvin's presser today he was asked about the potential to promote within if Zimmer gets a job. Marvin said that wasn't necessarily going to happen and that two people could be brought in from the outside. This makes me think that Zimmer has plans to take Guenther with him to his new job and Marvin doesn't have plans to block it. I think Zimmer gets a job and we're looking at Jim Schwartz as the DC.

Rumors are floating around that Jim Schwartz could be a possibility since Lewis hired him as an assistant in Baltimore back in 96.

I think this is the most plausible scenario.

No reason why Schwartz wouldn't want the job -- Tons of talent that are already well coached. He'd have a shot to be a top or top 10 D right away which would put him back on track for another head coaching gig.

Bengals do like to promote from within though, it costs less I think.
