Would you rather get Chris Johnson for somewhere around $20 - $25 ($115 budget) or get 2 out of the 3 of Lamar Miller/Le'Veon Bell/Montee Ball?

I've already got Trent Richardson but Johnson has been disappointing the last two seasons and wondering if my money would be better spent on two of the other three.

I'd rather have two of the other three. CJ is a solid bet with additional upside, but there's no particular reason to think CJ will do better than he's done the past couple of years. He could easily end up ahead of those three, but not by much. I'd bet Bell gets at least as many carries and TDs as CJ (but CJ's YPC should be ahead).

Miller + either Ball or Bell. Bell is safer, Ball has more upside, but all 3 of these guys have a chance to outproduce CJ1K. I am not saying that they will, but your team will look better with any 2 of these 3 than it will with CJ.

Without question Miller and your choice of Ball/Bell..my personal preference is Ball..but either is worth the buy at half of CJ1K'S auction value. Will any of the three outproduce CJ1K? Possibly, potentially, but even if they don't, even if they only get 2/3's of CJ2K's production which what? 800yds, 5-7 TD's, your WAY ahead in value.

And BTW, 800 yds is only 50yds a week and a TD every 3 weeks..totally plausible for all three RB'S in question

Anyone change their mind on this now with Miller possibly sharing time and Bell possibly hurt?

Well... me, I'd rather have Bell and Bernard, but you didn't list Bernard.

With Bell now battling 2 injuries (from what I've read) this preseason, I'm not high on him. I wasn't as high on him as some earlier this summer. He got ran like a horse in college, so the injuries don't surprise me. If I were to go that route, I'd definitely choose Miller and Ball. However I'd go CJ. They really made some great upgrades on the OL with Levitre and Warmack, and it sounds like they're looking to work CJ into the passing game more so there's some more value. Even though last year saw a horrible start, don't forget he finished with double digit points in 9 of the last 13 games. I like him for a really solid bounce back year, especially as a RB2.

The keepers have been selected so the following are available:

Steven Jackson
Stevan Ridley
Chris Johnson
MJD
Lamar Miller
Frank Gore
Le'Veon Bell
Montee Ball
Giovani Bernard
Chris Ivory
R Mendenhall
Shane Vereen
Bradshaw
Ryan Mathews
Eddie Lacy
Daryl Richardson
BJE

I've got T. Richardson but will need 3 out of these guys for the roster and there's only 2 teams with a higher amount spent and 2 teams that have the same remaining budget I have. By my calculations there are 8 starting spots open and 23 backup spots left (if each team has 4 RB's, 2 Starters and 2 bench).

I don't like the fact they brought in Shonn Greene. He looks to be a TD vulture and you are always wondering if CJ2k-800 will decide to show up!

I just had my auction draft and loaded up the end of my bench with Lacy, Ingram, and Mathews all at a fraction of what CJ went for. I am hoping one of those 3 steps up and I have some injury insurance. I would have liked Miller or Richardson but ran out of cash.

In an auction league, which I am not an expert at btw, I would prefer 2 players for the price of one, if I felt that those 2 players are going to get respectable amount of touches compared to the 1 guy that I want.

I think Miller will get a similar amount of touches, and then whichever you like from the rookies, Ball, Bell, Bernard, Lacy.

I was high on Ball at first, but I think I would possibly go with Bernard, since he may end up being even cheaper than the other 2. If not cheaper, than I'll stick with my gut and say go with Ball as your RB3.

I'd look at getting Ridley + Vereen, TBH.

with all those TDs last year, I would imagine Ridley to go at a higher price than the RBs we've been discussing. But I may be wrong there.

I'd also imagine Vereen to be going at a lower price than the ones we're talking about, and I love that combo this year. While Ridley is the bell cow, so to speak, I fully expect to see plenty of Vereen now with Woodhead gone. Ridley averaged over 18 carries a game last year, so you know he'll get his. Vereen and Woodhead combined for like 185 touches last year. I don't see Brandon Bolden suddenly breaking in, so I don't look at Vereen as a typical handcuff. He's more of a Sproles-type. I really like him, in any format, as a flier in the 8th-9th round or for some low dollars in an auction.

I always prefer one over 2 if u are convinced that the one is the best of the 3. The reason why is that throughout the season you will do add drops. If u have 2 studs over one stud and 2 questions you will likely remain questioning all season. Depth for depth sake is never a good thing. Now, if u are not confident with CJ then that is a whole different story. Plus you will be spending more than 25 units for the 2 of them.

Steven Jackson $18-23
Stevan Ridley $17-21
Chris Johnson $18-20
MJD $16-18
Lamar Miller $13-15
Frank Gore $13-14
Le'Veon Bell $11-15
Montee Ball $5-9
Giovani Bernard $6-7
Chris Ivory $5
R Mendenhall $5-6
Shane Vereen $4-6

Ryan Mathews $4-5
Eddie Lacy $5-6
Daryl Richardson $4

Updated expected value based on the site we use, but only projections as with lack of RB this season I can see the values going up as people try to find deals with WR and QB's.

Well, you should be able to get Bell for a nickel now. How deep is the bench?
