felt he had a really good game today, he's a hard guy to move so disrupted running plays. thought he held the line much better than Sop.

he can't get much stats playing that spot, but IMO.......gives Bowman a good run as 'biggest surprise'.

If anything I thought the run defense will suffer but obviously it didn't.

Much credit to Ray for holding it down and rushing the passer. He's been very key for us this year.

YES THEY DO. WILLIAMS IS SO GOOD THE TEAM DOESN'T EVEN DRESS HIM ON GAMEDAY. RJF AND DOBBS PLAYED A LOT TODAY AND WE GAVE UP A SEASON HIGH FOR POINTS. WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK DEPTH AT DL WOULD BE A GOOD THING?

WHY WOULD WE DRAFT A WR WITH HASTINGS AND SWAIN? WHY WOULD WE DRAFT A CB WITH BROCK AND CULLIVER?

WHY WOULD WE DRAFT AN OL WITH PERSON AND KILGORE?

WHY WOULD WE DRAFT A QB WITH KAEPERNICK AND TOLZIEN?

WE SHOULD JUST SKIP THE ENTIRE DRAFT.

I was really worried about his knees turning him into a wasted pick but he's really turned into a nice player....

Ray & Bowman have exceeded every expectation I had for them. I was hoping Ray would be a great backup DE. He's turned into one of the better 3-4 DEs in the entire league! He was always a good pass rusher, but he's stout against the run now too. Way t' go Ray! Justin must've taught him a thing or two.

Interesting that you say that because I see him as very much like Justin SMith. Nice bookend DEs

Add a good backup at DE to play maybe 10-12 snaps a game and the Niners are lookin' pretty scary on the DL (especially if RJF keeps getting better).

DL isn't a DIRE need but wouldn't pass on solid value because he's DL? i'd think this is the time to keep an eye out for a NT anyway? not purposely draft one, but definitely scout in earnest. because it ooesn't need to be round 1 or even 2.

LOL woooooow playboy 1st off look at today's situation they clearly where on cruz control on D pwillis wasnt pusing that hammy and aldon was trying to hard to get that record 2ndly cully and brock have started multiple games Williams and dobbs for that matter havnt got the extensive reps with the first team like that including practice i actually talk to culliver every weekend "dont believe @itsprattap" check and he gets alot of first team reps. so you cant compare that. furthermore rogers is in his last year of his contract and older so cully and brock are basically looked at 1 and 2 from a GM point of view spencer is gonna leave and brown is aiight so we need 2 more solid DB's at DL we have 6 undercontract for 2 or more years..

Well if one is looking for a backup DL one has the benefit of being able to get an unconventional specialist kind of player because the team may want to use him in certain situations only. I think a guy like that could easily be found in rounds 3 or 4.

If Brandon Thompson from ...shutter... Clemson is there, however, it would be hard to pass on him. Same with Jerel Worthy. Not sure which one I like more. Thompson always stood out to me more; dude plays with great pad level & agility.

That guy Poe from Memphis is a huge dude who could be one of gthose "potential" type of players. Wouldn't mind taking a look at him a little later maybe. Same with Ta'amu his aptly named Huskies. :)

I assume there is some sort of point in there, but it's really tough to find.

Let's not look at today. Let's look at the last few weeks. How has the run defense looked? Could that be because our DL is worn down from playing so much? Smith played nearly every snap this season before the second half today. Ditto for Ray McDonald. They're great, but they don't get off the field much.

So why don't they get off the field much? Possibly because the staff doesn't believe in the backups along the DL?

On top of that, how long are Dobbs and Williams signed for? RJF is only signed for one more year.

At CB, how many snaps has Spencer played this year? Will not having him really hurt? Brock is a free agent (exclusive rights) this March. Rogers has expressed an interest in finishing his career in SF. Have any of your weekly talks with Culliver suggested the team will be letting him leave?

How about WR? Should we not draft WR because of Swain, Hastings and Bogans?

Ignore the OL because of Kilgore and Person?

I'm hoping the team takes you seriously and ignores EVERY position except QB because they traded all the picks away for Luck. :)

Ahhh pipe dreams...

Dobbs and Williams Will be starters unlike hastings and all these bac up your throwing out there simple as that if they get the chance to start they will step in and produce big. both got 4yr deals and tufuku will be a FA 2013 with RJF. And your assuming thats why there not getting on the field but is has more to do with scheme and letting them learn they will play next year i assure that you can bookmark it now!

If they had to play I have no Doubt they could play at a high level and a
as for the "d" not playing we WILLIS HAS BEEN HURT !!! he is GREAT so they fell off a lil

The first 6 words in this post are among the most ridiculous things ever typed on this board. It's flat out stupid.

The rest of the post isn't much smarter. They've been on the team all year. Is the scheme for the DL that difficult, is Tomsula a bad teaching coach, or are Williams and Dobbs among the stupidest people on the planet? After 5 months they don't know the scheme well enough to get on the field?

What about those two (and Tukuafu who also doesn't have a contract for next year from what I can tell) suggests to you they can be solid starting DL in the NFL when they can't even get in a rotation this year? WILLIAMS DOESN'T EVEN GET IN UNIFORM!!!!!

I don't see anything in any of your posts in this thread that suggests you know what you're talking about. It's wild speculation and hope. Nothing more.

Both Williams and Dobbs signed 3 year contracts from what I can tell, not 4 year deals.
