All depends what the pick was. If it's a 4th rounder+ it's a good move as Flacco is a better option than Keenum. Wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos draft a QB early, regardless.

As for the Ravens, this isn't a shock - but if they're really going all in with Lamar "A More Terrible Michael Vick 2.0" Jackson, that's pretty hilarious. I would fully expect the Ravens to be looking for an early QB as well (even in the 2nd/3rd round) as Jackson is a terrible passing option who is looking forward to multiple injuries, but whatever.

Agreed. If Elway had not talked Manning into coming and also drafting Von Miller, his accomplishments as a GM would be virtually non-existent.

Elway should be on the hot seat. Big time.

It's like I'm sayin

He's going to continue to get more rope because of that SB win and because he's a living legend. I'd hate to be in the owner's shoes but if you're a good businessman, sometimes you make the hard decisions.

Nope, not at all actually. He was overrated. Look at the completion pct, it's not everything, but it was low for most of his career. He isn't in my top 10

Not in your top 10? Oh daaaaaamn! You'd get arrested here in CO. for that kinda blasphemy. :heh:

Not sure why people are 100% certain he'll be injured as pocket QB's get hurt just as often as mobile QBs (especially if the o-lines are bad).

RG3 comparisons are bad his injuries were made worse by the coaches and ruined his career.

Wouldn't be surprised if Flacco restructures his deal after the trade.

Oh, I know that but you would think Elway could at least spot one half decent QB besides Peyton at the tail end of his career. It's absolutely pathetic how bad his drafts and signings have been. It's just hard to believe he is this stupid but maybe he just is.
Throws a nod to the old adage that star players do not make good coaches or execs. Everything came easy to them and its hard for them to evaluate talent because their perspectives are skewed.

Because he's CONSTANTLY looking to run the football and he's 210 pounds at 6'2"? He ran the ball 147 times in 7 GS. LOL, that's not sustainable. Receivers will hate him because a) he looks to run too much, and b) that flick throw he does is trash and doesn't help the receivers at all (no touch/poor placement).

Over the last 3 seasons:
Flacco: 50 TD/34 INT, 63.8 comp%, 82.6 QB rate, 242 yards per game

Keenum: 49 TD/33 INT, 63.8 comp%, 86 QB rate, 235 yards per game

RG3 comparisons are also bad because RG3 at least looked like a good passer as a rookie.

If we gave up abything more than a 7th round pick, we lost this trade big time. Flacco is barely worth a 7th rounder. Flacco isn't any better than Siemian, who was a 7th round pick.

Elway doesn't know QBs.

This. The most I would give up for Flacco is a 7th rounder. He is just bad

Is Elway drunk?

I am starting to think he didn't like seeing another elite QB in Broncos gear when Manning was there, and wants to sabotage?

I mean, at least trade for Big Dick Nick.

I would have just stuck with Keenum. With a better staff he might play a little better

John Elway is so bad at his job

He's got a ring as a GM...admittedly, I don't quite understand this move, more experience, but more or less lateral performance lately....I trust the compensation was rather low.

Plus they're only on the hook for him for one more year. I think Flacco has 3 more years.
Time for another Osweiler deal? Offer Elway a 5th in exchange for a 2nd and Keenum so he doesn't have to pay him?
